So Sweet / Hip Kit Club

Hey, friends!  I have another new layout to share today for Hip Kit Club :)  I focused on the exclusive Stamp Set from the 2020 July Hip Kits.  I was a bit intimidated by the layered floral stamps at first, but once I started experimenting with them they were so fun to make!  They look very close to the flowers on one of the Jen Hadfield papers.  Looking at my layout...can you tell which ones are from paper and which ones are stamped?  Did you get this stamp set?  It's amazing!

I started by stamping a bunch of the flowers.  There are several styles & sizes.  I made a few large ones and lots of smaller ones.  I used all of the ink pads we've gotten in recent Color Kits.  Some are from Art Philosophy and some are from The Stamp Market.  I also used some Distress Oxides from my stash to add in the darker shades of some of the colors.  I used a mix of products to create the messy heart on the background, including the orange Nuvo Mousse from the Color Kit.

I used textured white cardstock for the background, and I first coated it with clear gesso.  Once that dried I cut a large heart from some scrap cardstock.  I traced it onto the white paper.  I mixed some of the orange Nuvo Mousse with some pink watercolor (previous kit) and used a brush to paint it over the traced heart.  I used water to spread out some of the color.  I added in more products...some yellow from a Stamp Market in pad and some pink Nuvo Mousse from an older kit.  Once it dried, I machine stitched over the heart with blue thread.

I fussy cut some flowers from the Jen Hadfield paper and paired them with some of the ones I stamped.  They look very similar!  I layered some cardstock and patterned papers behind the photos as well as some white tissue paper.  I popped them up with some adhesive foam and then tucked lots of flowers around them.

I love how these tiny flowers turned out!  They were so easy to make.  I did fussy cut them all out, but that was pretty easy.

I decided to tuck in some matching thread in a few places to add some texture and pops of color.  I used some of the Maggie Holmes black clear leaf stickers around some of the flowers.

I added some of the tiny Maggie Holmes phrase stickers here at the bottom as well as another stamp.

I thought the title fit nicely up at the top left area, so I used two of the Simple Stories puffy word stickers there.  My journaling fit perfectly under that.

I popped up some of the flowers...you can see the difference in the dimension.  I love that effect!

More flowers up top :)

I love how the title nestled perfectly under these flowers...I was totally channeling my inner Jen Schow :)  She's the QUEEN of nestling.  That cute little camera is another exclusive stamp.  I stamped it on some scrap white cardstock and the cut it out.  I didn't want to chance stamping over the stitching.

I hope this inspires you in some way today.  This was so fun to make...these flowers were addictive!  I want to make more and just stick them everywhere :D  I just got my August Kits...I can't wait to dig into those!

Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you again soon!
