Challenge Me Happy #31

Hello there!  It's Sunday afternoon here, or Monday in other places.  That means it's October 1st, and it's time for lots of new reveals!  Today, I'm sharing the latest challenge up at Challenge Me Happy.  This one is super easy...anything goes!  That means you can enter whatever you want...no set limitations.  The winner will receive some goodies from My Little Shoebox!

Here's what I came up with...I got a little paint happy...haha!  I used the Upcycle line from Cosmo Cricket.  I've had it lying around for months and finally decided to dig in to it.  I love the colors & patterns.

Head on over to the blog and check out what the rest of the DT created.  I hope to see you linked up over there :)

Have a great week!

Wheeee!!

It's me again...yep...it's another Artful Delight page!  My fifth one with the September kit :)  My last three posts have been full of my AD pages...I love how they all turned out.  This one was one I created last...and I used a lot of the bits & pieces I had left over, plus some of the cardstock.  I call this page one of my "totally random" ones...meaning I just printed out my photos and started cutting and sticking...no rhyme or reason.  I decided to create a little star flower out of the flag stickers and used one of the October Afternoon sticky buttons as the center.

I also wanted to share a picture of the October kit...lots of My Mind's Eye!! Yay!!

That's it for today...a quick and easy post :)  Thanks for stopping by!!

Clap & Sing Along

Hey there, scrappy friends!  I have yet another Artful Delight page to share with you this afternoon.  It's my fourth page using the September kit, and I just love how this one turned out!

The colors in these pages are amazing...so bright & fun.  There are also LOTS of banners...one of my favorite things to use on a layout.  There are also lots of these little flags...they are SO fun to use!  I added some blue paint smears, but everything else is included in the kit.

There are still some kits left if you'd like one.  It's a really fun one!

Thanks for stopping by today...I hope you are having a nice one!

Silly. Happy. Funny. @ Artful Delight

Hey there, friends!  I hope you're enjoying your Sunday.  It's so nice & sunny here, but just stepping out the front door results in immediate sweat.  You'd think I'd be used to the Florida humidity after living here all my life, but it is still so stifling.  I forecast some pool time in our near future!

I'm hopping online today to share my third layout for the month at Artful Delight.  I made five pages from the September kit, and I still have product left over.  For this page, I used Echo Park, Kaiser Craft & October Afternoon goodies.  Lately, I've been crazy about using busy background papers.  I did use a little gesso to fade out some of the pattern right around the red circle.  I love the effect gesso gives!  And it's really easy to use.

You really should check out this kit...so full of fun & bright patterns & colors!  Also, there is a DT call going on for Artful Delight...I promise you it's an amazing team to be a part of!  Click HERE for details.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!

A few My Scraps & More Layouts

Happy Weekend!  I hope you are all doing well and enjoying some relaxation time.  I wanted to share a few pages I've created in the past few weeks for My Scraps and More.  The challenges just keep coming over there, so I keep on scrappin' them :)

I created this one a few weeks ago.  It was for one of my DT {play}challenges.  The challenge was to use a busy piece of patterned paper for your background.  I thought this Amy Tangerine Sketchbook line was perfect for this!  I didn't add any paint or mist...I didn't want to make it any busier than it already is.

I crumpled up this end strip to make it look like ribbon. I love AC papers because the bottom strips are usable!

I created this one last weekend for the Back 2 Class Crop.  This one was for Yearbook class.  We had to use a Superlative, and I created one that fit these photos.  Interestingly enough, I used the same line for this page!  I can't get enough of it.

You can buy this collection at the My Scraps store, and right now you can get 20% off! Go HERE to visit the store.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Scraps & More DT Reveal

Happy Thursday, everyone!  I hope you're doing well this morning...I can't believe the week is almost over.  Time is just flying by!  I wanted to share with you my DT projects for September at My Scraps & More.  Tammi sent us the Country Boutique line from Fancy Pants.  When I first saw the papers, I was nervous about creating with them because they aren't my usual choice in colors.  There are a lot of whites, browns, blacks, greys & light blues...and I really love bright colors.  But then I had a vision of scrapping a black and white photo...and once I started, these papers quickly became very fun to work with.  I made four pages out of this one collection, and I still have more left over.  I looked at these as a challenge, and the more I created with these papers, the more I loved them!

Here is what I created...

To me, these papers have very elegant designs.  The color scheme inspired me to scrap one of my wedding photos.  I absolutely love the black and white photo here...it goes so nicely with the papers.  I added some light blue paint and some modeling paste.  Those hearts were fussy cut from one of the patterned papers...they were just begging to be cut out :)

Another white and black photo featured here...I love this chevron paper!  The only things I added here are the buttons, twine & doilies.  Again, these papers have such elegant colors and designs, and the doilies seemed like a perfect match.

Another awesome thing about this line is the sheet of banner pieces!  There are all shapes & sizes to punch out.  I scrapped a sepia toned photo here, and it goes very well with the brown/wood background paper.  I added modeling paste to this one, too, and also another doily.  Don't you just love my daughter's cute little toe?  :)

I used a color photo for this page.  It's a shot of me and my husband on our honeymoon in Lake Tahoe.  The colors just jumped out at me, and I knew these papers were the perfect ones for it.  I fussy cut more of the hearts and added a heart-shaped doily.

I think it's safe to say that this collection quickly became one of my favorites!  I love it when you don't think something is your style, and then you make it work and create something you love more than ever.  You should definitely give this line a try...it's so worth it!

You can get it in the store right HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great day!

Happy Happy Birthday @ Artful Delight

I love Tuesdays!  Its my reveal day at Artful Delight, and I'm so excited to share my layout of the week.  When I first received my kit and saw this awesomely amazing piece of patterned paper by October Afternoon, I knew right away what I wanted to do with it...

I placed a photo behind the cut out star and added embellishments around it.  The paper is just so great by itself that I didn't want to do anything else to it.  All of the embellishments come with the kit...even the stamps & washi tape!  The only thing I added from my stash are the little orange "happy" alphas.  I was impressed with how "simple" I left this page :)

There are still kits available to purchase, and you can also win one if you enter our sketch challenge on the blog HERE.  Don't forget, there is also a DT call going on...trust me...these kits ROCK!

Have a great day!

ScrapFIT Workout #76 - Diana's Color Inspiration

***For the latest Challenge Me Happy reveal, click HERE***

Good Saturday morning to you!  I hope you were able to sleep in a bit.  That extra little bit of shut-eye in the morning makes such a difference, doesn't it?  Now that we're up and at it, it's time to share ScrapFIT's latest workout.  It's #70 and it's Diana Fisher's beautiful color inspiration.  Check it out!

The winner of this workout gets September's Low Cal FITKit...it's full of everything but paper.  Washi tape, twill, twine, stick pins, stickers....the list goes on!

If you don't want to wait to win one of these kits, you can buy one right now at the Paper Issues store.  Use the code FITKIT for a 20% discount!!  Woo hoo!!

I was nervous when I first saw this color palette...these are so not my usual color choices. If you follow my blog, then you know I love bright colors. These are so calm & on the darker side. I looked at this as a real challenge...no girly colors allowed at all! So here is what I came up with...something completely from scratch using very old papers from my stash.

I started with just plain white cardstock and a heart stencil.  I used modeling paste to create the texture, and then I just watered down some acrylic paint and washed the brush over it.  I distressed and punched my torn edges a little bit and added a messy circle stamp with silver ink.  I went through my very old stash of paper and found anything navy or grey and came up with those random paper strips.

A close-up of the heart textures. I also created this picture frame. I stamped the word "cherish" and cut around it to create a cute frame.

Another close-up...

I also added a few chipboard hearts that I painted and wrapped in floss.

You have until September 30th to play along with us. Upload your projects HERE. You really should head on over to the blog and check out all the navy blue, grey and white projects...I promise you will leave with tons of ideas & inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Challenge Me Happy #30

It's Friday...yesssss!  It's already the middle of the month, and that means time for some reveals :)  Today marks #30 at Challenge Me Happy.  The challenge is to create your own embellishment.  I have been dying to use the lovely One Sweet Day collection from Echo Park.  I wanted to add some flowers to my page, so I stamped some and cut them out to create my own little unique flower cluster.  Easy as pie :)  I did a little paint smearing to add some blue to my background as well as a cute border stamp.

The prize for this challenge is really cool!  The winner gets to be our guest designer for next month!  Upload your project HERE by September 30th to play along.

I used this awesome sketch by Kristine Davidson.  She is now creating sketches for My Scraps & More!  I'm so excited about this :)

Have a great weekend!

Back 2 Class Layouts for My Scraps & More

The Back 2 Class Crop at My Scraps and More is still going strong!  If you are currently playing along, or if you'd like to join in, you have until Sunday, Sept. 16th to upload all of your projects.  There are 20 challenges up!!  That's an insane amount of inspiration, ladies!  Plus, there are games...and the prizes are awesome.

I've already shared one of my DT pages.  Today I'm sharing a few more, plus one that I created for another DT member's challenge.

First up is a page I created for "Typing Class."  (Each challenge is a class)  The challenge was to use old typewriter font on your page, or you could even use a picture or embelly of an actual typewriter.  I used both...using the Echo Park Everyday Eclectic line.

My next page was for "Music Class." All you have to do is use a song title or song lyrics in your title or journaling. I used Darius Rucker's "It Won't Be Like This For Long." I think every parent can relate to this song :)   I went for my old stash for this page...totally random manufacturers & embellishments.  I have Basic Grey, American Crafts, & Hobby Lobby paper, random Michael's flowers & tickets, and those brown flowers are some I punched from a brown paper bag!  The little girl is BG chipboard.

My last page is one I created for "Art Class." This is a page for a challenge that I'm not hosting...it's just one I made for fun! The challenge was to use mist or paint on your page. Well.....I sort of took it a step further and made my entire background with paint. The green dots are modeling paste that I colored green! Yep...take some paste and throw in a little bit of paint...and you have colored paste. Since this was for art class, I was in an abstract mode...haha!  I really just started slapping down paint and then I realized I didn't really need a lot of patterned paper.  The black & white houndstooth is tissue paper!

Whew...that was a lot of layouts for one post! I appreciate you visiting me and checking out my layouts! I hope you'll join us at the Crop :)

1st Layout of Sept. @ Artful Delight

Hey there!  It's Tuesday, which means it's my reveal day over at Artful Delight.  The new September kit is nothing short of amazing...it's full of October Afternoon, Kaiser Craft & a little bit of Fancy Pants.  Such beautiful & bright colors, which is totally my thing :)

Here is the first layout I have created with it, and it also follows the current sketch.  The only thing on this page that didn't come with the kit is my paint.  Those fun balloons, the flag...even the stamp...it's all included.  It really is a fun kit.  See all those strips?  Those all came from ONE sheet of patterned paper!  I still have tons of product left, so I'll be showcasing it all month long :)

I added some Glossy Accents to my balloons to give them some dimension and shine.

Just in case you'd like to check out this month's sketch, here it is...

You can win one of these awesome kits if your layout wins, so head on over HERE and play along with us! Thanks for stopping by today...have a great week!
