Hey, friends! Happy Wednesday :)  I'm here today with a bright and colorful layout for the Paige Evans Design Team featuring Paige’s Truly Grateful collection. I also used her Flower Corner cut file and her Sunburst Rays stencil. I know it’s coming up on Christmas, but I don’t think there’s ever a bad time of year for a rainbow color scheme!
I began this page by cutting the Flower Corner cut file on white cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo 3. I backed it with several papers from Truly Grateful. I used Horizon Paper 14 as my background. The purple color was perfect. I smudged a lot of white gesso down using a palette knife and then used a rainbow variety of gelatos.
I just scribbled down color, added a dot of water, and then used my
fingers to smudge and blend the colors around. Backing the cut file was
pretty simple. It’s a technique that I love doing, especially with
flower cut files.  I made
sure to use different colors on the background that were different from
the flower above it. I added splatters later on using different
Shimmerz sprays.
I've said it a million times, but I just love these bright rainbow colors so much.  I created some dimension here by adding some adhesive foam under the cut file.
I wanted to add a little something extra at the top behind the photo, so I used the Sunburst Rays stencil. I used a foam ink blending tool with a yellow Distress Oxide to create the rays and then fussy cut a small sun from Paper 14. I went light on the embellishing and kept it tight around the photo. I used a few birds from the Epoxy Stickers. I also tucked in matching colors of tangled thread which creates wonderful texture.
I added the title above the photo and I mixed and matched an Epoxy Sticker with a Puffy Phrase Sticker.
I liked how the title looked here as opposed to down where the flowers
were. I felt like the title would’ve gotten lost on top of the flowers.
Here at the top they stand out.
Here are more close-ups:
I highly recommend gelatos if you've never tried them.  They are so easy to use, and they smudge so easily.  I always use my fingers...I get the best results that way.
I hope this gives you some ideas to try on your next layout. I’m always
in the mood to scrap summer colors even in December!
I'm still waiting on my YouTube channel to be fixed...ugh.  No news yet :(
Thank you so much
for stopping by and have a great day!
