Happy Monday, my friends! The March Challenge is up over at Pinkfresh Studio, and it's a great one! It's all about frames, and you can interpret that in any way you like. These colors are perfect for the Super Cool collection, so that's what I used on my layout.
The Super Cool collection has a few papers that contain frames. I cut lots of these frames out and printed three small photos to fit them. I just layered the photos on top of the frames in a crooked manner and then layered more frames under them. I glued them together and machine stitched through them to add some texture and pops of black.
I used a Super Cool paper as my background. I love all those little dots! I covered a lot of it with white gesso, so that's why there are lots of faded areas. This prepped the paper for the Liquid Watercolors. I went with the Sky Blue and Aquamarine colors since there was a lot of red and yellow going on. The blue is a nice contrast. Here you can see the dimension from the frames....I added some adhesive foam under them to pop them up. I added lots of fun puffy stickers, stickers and thread. I fussy cut "like" from a different paper from Super Cool.
I used the Classic Words Die Set to cut this "love" piece. I painted it with some black acrylic paint and tucked it in over on the right side cluster. I made this cluster using more frames, die cuts and stickers. I also popped it up using adhesive foam.
Frames are so fun to use because they're pretty versatile. You don't have to put a photo in the dead center or even behind it. There are no rules, so you can use them however you want :) I wanted the color to show behind the photos, so I arranged the photos off center.
Here's another die cut from the Classic Words Die Set.
These speech bubbles are the coolest! They're a little bit see through, so I layered some white cardstock behind them before popping them up. That way they stay true to their color.
I splattered some watered down black acrylic paint at the end to pull some of the black from the photos. I love all the phrases and sentiments in this collection!
Here are a few more close-ups :)
I went very short and simple with the title. I wanted it to fit inside one of the small frames, and Hey Girl was perfect.
I hope that you'll join us in the challenge this month! Go HERE to read all about it, and you could even win a $50 Gift Card to the Pinkfresh Studio Store! Heck yes!
Maybe this layout will give you some fun ideas to try. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
Did you do a process video somewhere on this , Missy??
