ScrapFIT #71 - Home Sweet Home

Good morning!  I can't believe today is July 1st!  Half the year is officially over.  It really does seem like we just finished up with Christmas, and now it's summer?!  Unbelievable how fast time flies.  I'm so excited to share my latest ScrapFIT creation with you.  I was clueless at first, because the assignment is to create something to decorate your home instead of a layout or card.  I'm not usually that crafty when it comes to things off-the-page.  I saw this cute idea in Scrapbooks Etc, and thought I'd give it a go.  I really love the result!

I painted an old picture frame and then used crackle paint on it to give it a bit of a weathered look.  I cut a 10 banner-shaped pieces from Echo Park paper (one of my faves!) and then added different things to each one.  I attached wire going across the frame, and then used mini clothespins to hold the banner pieces.  It reminded me of a little clothes line, and I think it turned out rather cute!

I found these initial blingy stickers in the $1 at Michaels...I couldn't wait to use them on a project
.

  1. Love this, Missy- All the little banners are just great and I think you nailed this assignment- even if you were a bit lost to start with. I actually felt the same way- I have learned to like doing some altered things, but for some reason I struggled with coming up with an idea as I refuse to make something unless I'm actually going to USE it...
    Great work, as always...
