XOXO Sweet Cute / Hip Kit Club

Happy Weekend, friends!  Here's a new layout I created for Hip Kit Club.  I used the 2020 January Hip Kits, and I am loving every little piece in them.  I used one of the exclusive cut files for this month as well as lots of different patterned papers.  I love blue, yellow and pink together, so this was fun to make :)

I cut the hearts on white cardstock first.  I chose the papers I wanted to use and traced the hearts with a pencil.  I cut them out and backed them with adhesive foam.  This was like putting a puzzle together since I placed the hearts on top of the cut file.  This is just another way to use cut files and get some dimension in there.

I used smooth white cardstock as my background, and I coated most of it with clear gesso.  I used a few blue Lindy's products to create the watercolor area.  I mixed in the Silent Night Silver Magical Powder from the Color Kit with some blue spray from a previous kit.  I decided to add in a bit of pink, yellow and black splatters to echo the colors in the papers.

Since I had pops of black up in the hearts, I used a black and white photo.  I also wrote my journaling in black and created a smaller cluster of hearts down at the bottom.  I cut some hearts using the same papers and used a few puffy stickers.  I machine stitched through it for some added texture.

Most of the papers and embellishments are from the Pinkfresh Studio My Favorite Story collection.  I used some die cuts here as well as stickers, puffy stickers and even part of a chipboard frame.  I used a few Pocket Life cards as layers behind my photo.

Here you can see the dimension...I love the shadow effect.  I filled in a few blank hearts with the white ones from the cardstock.  I glued them flat so I could stitch through them with black thread.  I topped a few of the hearts with more pink puffy stickers.

I added in some matching colors of tangled thread under a few of the hearts.  I just love the pops of color and texture the thread gives :)

I decided to mix and match my title with some XOXO puffy stickers and some Pinkfresh Studio puffy stickers.  I love how these two words fit into each other.

A few more :)

I hope this gives you some ideas to try the next time you use a cut file.  Try placing paper on top of it instead of behind it.  Something different!

I have a process video up of this on the Hip Kit Channel HERE.

Thanks for stopping in, and have a great weekend!
