Cuteness has arrived!

Here is a layout I did just for the fun of it...no challenges at all. I love these pictures of Paige. I was inspired by the beautiful colors of her outfit, and I combined a few different random papers. Some are from Doodlebug, and the star paper...I have had it for years! I have no idea where it came from, but it matches perfectly!

I cut some stars & popped them off the page.

I also cut the Ta-Da using Plantin Schoolbook & popped them off the page, too.

Another Sweet Peach layout

I wanted to share with you another layout I made using the Sweet Peach Crop Shop August Juicy Kit.

This was a bittersweet moment...Paige's last bottle. She was about to turn one year old, and I wanted to start her on a sippy cup. I was worried that she would have trouble with it because technically she only had one bottle a day (I was nursing the rest of the time). I'd pump her some milk while I went to the gym in the afternoons. She did great with the sippy! She took to it like she'd been using it forever. I just love how she'd hold the bottle at the bottom!

I used a bird mask / screen to create the large bird shape, and I love how it turned out.

I used a button from the July kit, and the string of pearls are from my own stash. I think they go perfectly with the colors in this kit.

I love the Studio Calico paper with these pretty different colored birds! I couldn't resist cutting a few out.

Thanks for your visit! Have a great weekend!

Paper Thrills Reveal

There is a really pretty sketch up over at Paper Thrills this week. I finished off Paige's 1-year photo shoot using this sketch. I always take way too many photos, and I can't ever decides which ones to scrap...so I wind up scrapping the majority of them!

Here's what I created.

I decided to cut some of these pretty flowers from patterned paper and scrunch them up a little. I added a pearl to the centers.

I like partially hidden flowers...

Head on over to the blog & check out the sketch and see what the other DT members created. Have a great day!

The Scrappiest #133 & The Paper Variety

Yay! I'm so excited to share this layout for two different challenges. I used the latest sketch from The Scrappiest and combined it with The Paper Variety's latest challenge...use some kind of threads on your project.

Here's what I came up with. Pictures of Paige poking her little lips out! She used to do this and put her little fingers up to her mouth, like she loved to feel them! I love these baby lips!

I used a random old stack of papers for this...I think I bought this gigantic stack from Walmart a few years ago, but I love the pink, orange & brown together. I added some punching, some ribbon & stitched around the edges & the circle.

I made this ribbon flower...so easy! All you need is a circle base, some ribbon & some hot glue.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back throughout the week for some more scrappy sharing :)

Sweet Peach Crop Shop August Sketch #2

A new sketch is up today at Sweet Peach Crop Shop! If you'd like the chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the shop, then upload your layout on the blog by September 2nd!

Here's my layout. I turned the sketch on its side since my pictures were vertical. I used the August Juicy kit, and I also did a short tutorial on recycling product packaging on this layout. I cut out the clouds from the Prima pearls backing...I really liked the script text on it. I then stitched around the edges for a little more detail.

I created the sun's rays using the beautiful yellow ribbon in the kit.

I just love these little canvas tags in the kit! They are originally an off-white color, but I painted them blue. These little word stickers are also so neat...there are so many words to choose from.

Head on over to see the sketch! Have a wonderful day!

ScrapFIT Weekend Warm-Up #12 - Scallops!

The newest WWU is up at ScrapFIT. The challenge is to use SCALLOPS on your layout, card or other altered project. You can punch them, cut them, draw them, use die-cuts...whatever works for you!

Here is the sample I made for the challenge. I used a lot of My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup that I had leftover from another layout I did last week. I loved the little animals...I just had to use them!

I found this sentiment stamp in the $1 at Michael's...they have several different sayings. I also added some buttons & floss to finish it off.

Hop on over to the blog and enter your project! If you win, you'll be featured in ou next FitGIRL Spotlight!

Sweet Peach Share & Artful Delight Layout

I wanted to share with you another layout I created using the Juicy Kit from Sweet Peach Crop Shop. Everything in it is just so pretty! I love the delicate & soft colors...just perfect for baby girl photos :)

The pink cardstock did not come with THIS month's kit, but it DID come with last month's kit. I knew when I pulled out these photos that I needed to add in some pink. So I went to my previous kit's stash and combined it with the newer papers. I cut the big, layered flowers on my Cricut (Bloom cart) and the smaller ones I punched using a Martha flower punch. I also cut "grins" using a very old cart...remember All Mixed Up? I also added some stitching around the perimeter.

I love these Prima pearls! They make perfect centers for flowers :)

You can pick up this kit, along with the Sweet Kit at the Sweet Peach Crop Shop right now! They truly are amazing kits...you'll love them! I still have two more layouts to share with that I created from it...stay tuned!

I also wanted to share a layout I created for the current sketch challenge at Artful Delight. I love this picture of Reese, and you know I have to buy any article of clothing with her name on it...haha! I made the photo black & white except for her shirt. I used an old Reese's wrapper for some embellishments and then went with the color scheme for my papers.

I'm still on the banner bandwagon! Love them! I used paper & ribbons to make this one.

I decided to pull out the old hot glue gun and make some cute ribbon flowers. So easy...but lots of glue everywhere! I used some store-bought flowers as well as some punched ones.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day :)

The Paper Variety - Citrus Challenge

I worked on this layout over the weekend, and I love how it came out! The Paper Variety's latest challenge is to use citrus colors -- yellow, orange & green. I had just the perfect photos for these colors...

I used a few different Prima-esque flowers, some paper punched flowers & some stitched circles. I used some chalk to color the word "girl." They started out white.

Thanks for looking!

Be Inspired by a Book - ScrapFIT # 50 Reveal

This has been one of my favorite ScrapFIT Workouts! It's an inspiration challenge, and it's all about this book:

Isn't is so bright and colorful? My first reaction was the gorgeous color...it really inspired me. I also liked the block-style layout. For my layout, I used one large photo up top and two smaller ones on the bottom. I recreated the large title as well as using the pretty colors.

Pop dots are the best thing ever! I love how they easily make flat things dimensional.

Check out this cool prize!

You MUST go check out how the other design team members interpreted this book...there are so many different creations! They are all very amazing! You have until August 31st to upload your layout to Mr. Linky. Have a great week!

My Mind's Eye Challenge #26

I've had these My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup papers for a while and decided to make a layout with them and enter it into their monthly contest.

Here's the sketch:

And here's what I created. This came together really fast. It's so much easier to scrap a page when you have all matching papers & embellishments! I kept thinking I wanted to add more, but I wound up leaving it as is. Sometimes I think less is better :) I loved the bright colors in this paper collection. I added some scalloped-shape stitching on the sides.

I added some orange decorative ribbon that I found at Michael's on clearance.

Thanks for your visit! I've got a ScrapFIT reveal coming up tomorrow, so stay tuned :)

Sketchy Thursdays 8.11 sketch & GDT entry

I had a small break from creating DT pages, so I decided to play with some Sketchy Thursdays sketches! First, I loved the current weekly sketch. It features three photos, and I've been looking for the right sketch for these Valentine photos of Reese. She had about five different Valentine shirts, so she wore a different one each day that week. Every time I tried to take her picture, these were the faces I got! So much for "being my Valentine"...haha! You can see what she thought...LOL!

I decided to use eyelets on this one...I tend to forget about them, but I love how this turned out with the ribbons.

I also decided to draw and hand-cut my title. It's not perfect, but I wanted a break from Thickers & cutting with my Cricut. I like trying new things!

These are some hearts I cut using some old hard plastic packaging and a Sizzix die. I inked the edges with some Smooch...pretty cool for a handmade embellishment.

I also decided to enter a layout for Sketchy Thursdays' monthly Guest Design Team. In addition to using the provided sketch, the layout needed to revolve around reading. I had some pics (or pic, rather) of Reese reading her favorite Dora book. I was nervous about scrapping them because of the bold red & blue colors...and I almost printed them in black & white. I'm SOOO glad I didn't! I love how this turned out! Totally out of my "color comfort zone!"

I used a flourish-type mask and misted lots of red on my white background, and then added a few sprays of blue. I used various patterned papers to cut circles.

I decided to scrunch up some of the background paper. I just sprayed it with water and scrunched...once it dried I inked it a little bit and added some background patterned paper behind it.

I did some more distressing and added some buttons & flossy bows.

Thanks for stopping by! I will be back with more probably sometime over the weekend. Have a great one!

Paper Thrills Reveal :)

The newest challenge is up at Paper Thrills. This one is all about buttons! Your creation must use at least 20 of them. I used 21. And I used a lot of pink...haha! These are more pictures from Paige's 1-year photoshoot (well, one of them) and it's a ton of pink!

I decided to use most of my buttons as flower centers. I like the different shades of pink and how they're bundled together. I also wanted to see how many photos I could cram onto one page! :)

Thanks for stopping by! I'll have more to share in the next day or so. Have a wonderful day!

Sassy Lil' Sketches Reveal

I don't think I ever mentioned that I signed on with Sassy Lil' Sketches for another term! I couldn't be more excited to be a part of such a wonderful scrappy team. The reveal schedule has changed somewhat. Instead of revealing on the 1st, 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th, now layout sketches will be revealed every Tuesday. Card sketches will be revealed every Thursday, and we now have the Saturday Switch It Up, which is a special team who will take an ordinary sketch and make it unique...either they will flip it or change it up somehow. Check out the BLOG to see what the team has been doing for the past week!

Here is the Week 2 sketch:

And here is what I made. I've been working on scrapping Paige's 1-year photos. I took so many on several different occasions. These are a just a few of some I took of her on our back patio. Of course, she was sucking her thumb...she always has! I'm sure you'll see plenty more of this kind of picture a lot more in the future :)

I cut the clouds from some patterned paper and stitched around the perimeter of my background paper. I punched a few butterflies using various punches.

I love banners! I usually do pennants or triangles, but I liked the idea of squares on this one. I added pearls in between each one, and I really like the look of it.

If you really want some inspiration, head on over to the SLS blog and enter your layout to win a fantastic prize! You have until September 5th.
