Challenge Me Happy #39

Hey there, friends!  It's been over a week since I posted anything...wow!  Time is just passing me by like I'm standing still.  Today I'm sharing the newest challenge over at Challenge Me Happy.  The task is to create a layout featuring WHITE SPACE.  That's hard for a lot of people...including me!  It's hard for me to just leave a huge chunk of my page "as is."

Here's what I came up with.  I used the Hopscotch line from Fancy Pants, which I purchased from My Scraps & More a few months ago.  I love that it comes with a sheet of pre-cut banners...I decided to punch them out and use them up!  I used a small stencil & some inks to create the flower background...that really started out as just an experiment.  I added some FP buttons with some twine, some journaling & some yellow splatters, and that was it.

The winner of this fun challenge will win a paper pack from Maja Design.  This is a paper manufacturing company from Sweden who produces lovely soft & romantic papers.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT created on the CMH blog...lots of awesome inspiration & ideas!  You have until midnight February 15th (New Zealand time) to upload your layouts.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

One Little Word Crop pages

Hey, friends!  I'm finally getting around to posting the pages I created for the One Little Word Crop going on NOW at My Scraps & More.  It began on Friday, and if you'd like to play along, you still have this week to create some pages with us.

One of the challenges is to choose your own OLW and create a page using it.  My word is SIMPLIFY.  I have felt overwhelmed for a while...in all aspects of life.  I have a hard time saying NO to things, so I always wind up taking too much on.  Whether it's scrap-related, work-related or child-related...I always seem to overload my plate.  These are the top things I need to focus on to make my life simpler.

I used my Cameo to cut my vertical numbers, and then I used a variety of Mister Huey's to create a rainbow effect.  I wanted to focus on my goals, so I only used patterned papers along the edges.  I think it's a "simple" page...and I like it considering my word is simplify :)

I didn't have a yellow button that matched, so I covered one in washi tape!  Sometimes you just have to improvise...

One of the challenges I hosted was the CHANGE challenge.  The focus was on the word "change," and the rules were to show something that has evolved or changed over time for you.  It could be people, plants, a house...anything that has changed.  I scrapped a now & then type page of my sister and me.  There is a 20-year difference in these photos.  I used the On Trend papers from Crate Paper, which I adore!

This challenge focused on the word DIRECTION.  All you had to do was use ARROWS on your page.  These are photos of my little Reese riding horses at school.  Again, I used the On Trend collection.  I think I could use it on every page I create from here to eternity and never get sick of it!

If you'd like to join us, please come and do it!  You still have plenty of time to play along with all the challenges...there are TONS of them!  There are also games and lots of prizes up for grabs :)  Hope to see you there!  You can click HERE.

Have a wonderful day, and thanks for visiting me!

Happy Day Reveal at My Scraps & More + a CROP!

Hi, everyone!  I hope you all are excited that's it's the weekend...yay!  Before I get to my reveal at My Scraps and More, I want to remind you about our One Little Word Crop going on RIGHT NOW on our message boards!  A whole slew of challenges went up yesterday, and they all center around single words.  There are some really fun ideas over there to get you inspired, so hop on over there & join us!

I absolutely LOVE this month's kits that Tammi created!  There were three different ones, and I received the Happy <3 Day kit.  It's full of Fancy Pants & Echo Park goodness, and the colors are extremely yummy and right up my alley :)

This first page is devoted to my sweet husband :)  I knew as soon as I saw all the "love" related papers that I had to do a page about us.  The only thing I added from my stash was the little hearts (from a punch), the black mist, and the twine around th heart.  I really love the Bo Bunny lace!

This page showcases photos that are just random...everyday happenings.  Those are my favorite kinds of pictures!  My little Paige wasn't walking very good yet at this point, so she liked to hang out on the end of the couch and watch tv.  I used so many of the patterned papers and just layered them all behind the pictures.  I added the heart stamps, the red mist, & the twine, but everything else is in the kit, including that super cute metal piece!

My final page is another Paige page...haha!  She's our Valentine girl since she was born in February.  She wore some bright red & pink that day, so these papers & colors went perfectly with her outfit!  I did some stitching on this page, added some stamps & mist, and a few buttons.  I love the bright pink background paper from Crate!

I hope this week's kit reveals have inspired you to purchase one!  I promise they are awesome...you see what I've created, and I still have a LOT of product left.  Go HERE to check it out in the store.  Don't forget to check out our Crop going on this weekend...lots of fun!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful weekend!

ScrapFIT #84 & Challenge Me Happy #38

Happy Tuesday, friends!  I have two reveals to share with you today.  First up is Workout #84 at ScrapFIT.  It's a beautiful color palette...very calming colors.  Our awesome Creative Trainer Diana Fisher created it...check it out!

Here is what I created.  I live in Florida, and it's rarely cold here.  Our version of cold is probably not what our northern friends think cold is...haha.  This was a chilly November day here, and we needed our jackets.  I never get to scrap snow pictures, but I had these cute clear-cut snowflakes and I thought this was the perfect page to use them on!  (Even though it wasn't anywhere near snowing...haha!)  It still makes me feel the chill in the air when I see the snowflakes & pretty cool teal colors :)

The prize for this challenge is this month's FITKit from Paper Issues!  You have until January 31st to link up your project on the ScrapFIT blog HERE.

Next up is Challenge #38 at Challenge Me Happy.   It's a SONG CHALLENGE.  We give you a song – you create with whatever comes to mind for you. You might be inspired by the title, or the lyrics. You might be inspired by the song’s music video, the artist or the cover for the CD. There might be a memory you have, connected to the song, that you’d like to scrap about. The possibilities are endless, and that’s what’s so exciting with this challenge.

The song we have chosen for you this fortnight, happens to be the ringtone for Annelie, our blog owner and DT leader. A very popular song in 2012 by Gotye & Kimbra: SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW.

For me, the lyrics were a little bit negative, so I pulled a line out of the song and made it positive!  This is a photo of me and my husband from last Christmas.  I used some of MME's On the Bright Side.

The winner of this challenge will win a prize pack from Zva Creative!  You have until midnight February 1st to link up your layout for a chance to win!

I found this amazing sketch from ScrapFriends to inspire me!

Thanks so much for dropping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful day :)

A Late Night Read @ My Scraps

Hey there, scrappy friends!  I am so excited about the new releases coming soon to the My Scraps and More store...with CHA this weekend, it won't be long before we will want to buy up all the new scrappy goodness!  I'm on a mission to use up some of my older lines.  This For The Record 2 Documented line was one of my favorites from Echo Park.  I believe this is my fourth page using it, and I still have more to go.  If you've been following fellow DT member Tracy's posts, you'll know that she suggested this idea, and I decided to give it a go.  There is no sense in hoarding all of those beautiful papers!

Anyway, here is my page...lots of fun layers, some misting & stamping...some buttons & twine...and some washi tape thrown in. This page was up on the blog HERE yesterday.

You can still get a lot of these papers in the store HERE...and if you go now, you can get 40% off of whatever you purchase!  That's almost HALF OFF!  We have to make room for all the new releases, so go on over and do some shopping!  Use the code CLEAROUT 0113 at checkout.  Today is the last day!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT week!

My Scraps Sketch #11 - {hello} Sweet Paige

Happy Friday!  Just wanted to let you know there's a brand new sketch up on the My Scraps Sketch Blog today!  It's a really good one, too :)  If you love Kristine Davidson's sketches, then you're in luck.  Here's my layout based on the sketch.  I'm trying to use up my For The Record 2 Documented line from Echo Park.  The yellows, greens & blues are amazing in this collection.

I've been playing with my Cameo again!  I cut out all the hexagons, my title, and the hello bubble.  I LOVE this machine!

Here's the sketch:

Remember, there's a new sketch up every Friday on the blog HERE.  You can play along with any of them and have a chance to win one of My Scrap's monthly kits!  What are you waiting for?  I hope you join us!

Have a GREAT day, and thanks for stopping by!

Her Sweet Side

Hey there, friends!  I hope this Wednesday finds you doing well :)  I'm popping on this afternoon to share a layout I created for {stash} challenge at My Scraps and More earlier this week.  The challenge was to use up some of your twine or floss...in any way you want!  I stitched some and made some loops.  Usually, I tie bows in my buttons with it, but I didn't use any on this page!  I'm trying to use up what's left of my So Happy Together line from Echo Park.  I still have more to go!

I wanted to try out a background shape with my Cameo, so I cut this hexagon pattern.  I love how it turned out!  I'm sort of obsessed with cutting shapes & words now :)

I used this month's sketch over at Artful Delight...check it out!

Thanks for stopping by today!

ScrapFIT - Negative Punches

Happy Sunday, scrappy friends!  I hope you've had a great weekend so far.  School starts back up for the kids around here on Tuesday, so we have today and one more day to be lazy before the craziness goes back into full effect.  I'll be somewhat glad, though, to get back into our normal routine.  And I know the girls are getting bored...they'll be glad to get back to school.

Anyway, I wanted to share the latest Warm-Up over at ScrapFIT.  The rules are to use NEGATIVE PUNCHES on your project.  Sometimes it seems like we punch our shape and then the paper we have left with the big hole in it is just trash.  Not so!  Don't throw those scraps away....use them!  I used both the punch itself and the negative.  I love how this turned out!

I'm on a mission to use up my So Happy Together line from Echo Park...I've made about five pages from the leftovers so far...and I still have more!

If you'd like to play along with this challenge, you need to link up your project by noon on January 19th on the ScrapFIT blog HERE.  The winner will be featured in our FITGirl Spotlight later this month!

Thanks so much for visiting me today....have a great day!

Still scrappin' Halloween...

Happy Saturday, friends!  Saturday is my new blog posting day over at My Scraps and More.  Today I'm sharing a page I created using the Witch Hazel line from October Afternoon.

The line is still available in the store HERE.  It's a lot of fun, and I like that it throws in some blue and that witchy green color.  It reminds me of the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz...her exact skin tone!  I always thought that Halloween pages could only consist of black, orange & some purple for some reason.  Not true!  The embellishment stickers are fun in this line, too!

To create this page, I started off with a busy patterned paper.  Those chevrons are like an optical illusion...so I took an old credit card and smeared some black paint all around.  I like how it's transparent...you can still see the chevrons, but they're really toned down.  Plus it anchors everything else.  I knew I wanted to use that black tree since these pics were of my girls outside on Halloween.  The rest just came together.  I love the colors and how it turned out!

I used one of Diana Fisher's sketches...I never tire of them. They are all amazing!

Thank you so much for stopping by...I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
