Challenge Me Happy #41

Hi, friends!  Almost an entire week has flown by since my last post...seriously, where do the days go?  I can't believe February is practically over already.  March is upon us, and that means it's time for another challenge at Challenge Me Happy :)  This one is super easy....ANYTHING GOES!  That means you can do whatever you want and submit it.

The prize is a package of Webster's Pages goodies!  Definitely worth playing for :)  Here's what I decided to make....a catch-up Christmas page.  I decided to make only one Christmas morning page, so I printed my photos very small.  I can't believe I fit 12 onto one layout!  I knew I wanted it pretty simple since there are so many pictures, so I created a background using mist & a big snowflake mask, and then I just used strips of random Christmas papers behind the photos.  A little washi tape here and there mixed with some cute Christmas stickers, and there you have it.

Make sure you check out the rest of the DT's work HERE...everything is so different since it's anything goes :)  I hope you have a wonderful day, and I thank you so much for visiting me!

My Scraps Sketch # 17

Hey there, friends!  It's Friday, and that means it's time for another sketch on the My Scraps Sketch Blog.  I hope you play along with us for a chance to win a great prize!  I just got in some of the new Color Me Happy from Glitz, and I just LOVE it!  The rainbow color scheme is my favorite, and the coordinating washi tape is so perfect.  I added in the red circle, and I painted a piece of white cardstock with diluted blue paint.  I always like to have some solids in there to balance out the patterns.

I hope this inspires you to play along!  You can see the sketch HERE.  And, as always, you can buy these products at the My Scraps Store HERE....use the discount code CHA2013 & save 20%!  Plus Tammi ships super fast!

Have a GREAT day!

He'll Always Be My Secret Crush

Hey there, scrappy friends!  I'm hopping on here today to share a page I created for last week's Love is in the Air Crop at My Scraps & More.  I used the Secret Crush line from Pink Paislee...except the blue background is a Bo Bunny piece.  I wanted to pull in some blue from the sky in the photo, and I think it turned out nicely.

This was made for the Hot Date Challenge, which requested that you scrap a photo of someone about to go on a date, actually on a date, an anniversary photo...some kind of couple photo.  This is me and my husband about to leave to go to an auction/raffle gala last year for our daughters' school.

I had lots of fun cutting that heart background with the Cameo...I love this look!  I added some hearts stamps, some different patterns of washi tape, a few buttons and lots of layers.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I'm trying to kick a nasty flu bug that has hit our home...lots of achy muscles, nasty cough, headache...so not fun.  My husband and I both have it, so here's hoping that it skips over our girls!  Fingers crossed!

Have a great day :)

A few My Scraps pages

Happy Saturday, scrappy friends!  I hope you're enjoying your weekend.  I have absolutely nothing planned...finally!  The past month has been so hectic with various goings-on, so it's nice to have nothing to do for two whole days.  Yay!

I have a couple of pages to share today that I made for My Scraps and More.  This first one was for a weekly {word} challenge.  The word was "face."  I love taking close-ups of my sweet girls' faces.  This is one of my favorites of Paige...her little features are just precious!

I used the new MME My Girl line, and it is GORGEOUS!  I am SO in love with these mega-bright colors...right up my alley!  I decided to create sunburst effect so I could mix multiple patterns together.  I was really happy with how it turned out :)

I added a mix of alphas for my title, and I cut "face" on my Cameo. I added some light touches of paint and traced it with my black pen to make it pop.  I also wanted the butterfly to have a loopy trail of twine behind him :)

I love the chipboard buttons & shapes in this line!

This page was created for last week's My Scraps Sketch Blog.  I used the new MME Collectible Memorable line...it's so unbelievably pretty!  These funny faces of Paige swinging just crack me up!  She was having such a great time!

This line is full of fun chipboard shapes! The butterflies are my favorite.

There are also lots of fun layered shapes!

You can get both of these amazing lines in the My Scraps store HERE!  There are lots of other lines, as well as a lot of the new CHA goodies!  Right now you can use the code CHA2013 and get 20% off your order!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Challenge Me Happy #40

Happy Friday, friends!  I hope you're doing well.  It's been a busy week for me, and I'm finally having time to sit and make a post.  Challenge Me Happy has a new challenge up, so I'm excited to share what I created for it.

Challenge Me Happy is sharing the LOVE on Facebook at the moment. Like our page, AND our sister page Crazy Monday Kits to be in the running for a generous RAK filled with scrappy goodness from your favorite manufacturers. Make sure you get over there and like both pages!

The new challenge is called “Annelie’s surprise”. Why?  It will be different each time, the theme will change. We hope you are up for the challenge :)  The winner of this challenge will win a paper pack from our February sponsor Maja Design! The theme is TYPOGRAPHY! Very popular at the moment. We have a photo to give you some ideas. Follow the photo if you want. but it’s more like a guideline to the exciting world of typography.

Here is my page.  I wanted to make these Christmas photos work for this...a stretch, I know.  But I was inspired right off the bat by the blue & white stripes (which I made red & white), the corrugated cardboard look in the title, and the cursive font.  I also liked the bracket shapes around the design.  So that's what I incorporated into this holiday layout.

I added lots of layers...I really love using cardboard!  I also used an old journaling stencil I've had for years and ran some modeling paste over it to create those lines.  That stuff is amazing...and it's so easy to add to a project.

If you'd like to join us for this challenge, head on over to the blog & check out what the other DT members created.  You just may win the prize!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

***If you're here for Sara's Birthday Blog Hop, go HERE.***

Happy Saturday, scrappy friends!  I hope you are enjoying the weekend so far.  Today we have my little Paige's 4th Birthday party, so we have lots going on.  Before I get into a mad rush to clean house & prepare for party guests, I wanted to share a few My Scraps & More pages and remind you about our Love is in the Air Crop going on RIGHT NOW!  It just started yesterday, so you have plenty of time to join in the fun!  There are a ton of fun Valentine-related challenges for you, although your pages don't have to be about Valentine's Day at all.  There are lots of fun sample layouts to inspire you :)

Here are two of my pages I made for two of my challenges.  The first one is the "Fourteen Things" challenge.  I used the gorgeous Fourteen collection from Crate Paper...perfect fit, right?  :)  I LOVE the colors in this line...so rich and beautiful.  This layout was inspired by one I saw by Sophie Crespy...such an amazingly talented scrapper!  You can buy this line right now in the My Scraps store.

A few close ups of the details...

This layout is for the "I Love This Place" challenge.  Again, I used the Fourteen collection.  The map background is just perfect for a travel page...and the mapped hearts...swoon!

I sure hope you come and join us...we'd love to have you!  Plus, there is an amazing prize up for grabs :)  Don't forget to check out the store HERE...some new Bella Blvd just came in...woo hoo!  Use the code CHA2013 and get 20% off your total order!

A few My Scraps layouts & a goodbye

Thank goodness it's the weekend, right?!  It's a gorgeous sunny day here in Florida.  We've pretty much just skipped over winter, and I'm perfectly okay with that :)

Before I get to my pages, I want to let you know (in case you didn't already) that ScrapFIT has closed it's bloggy doors.  While I am sad about this, I completely understand how difficult it is to run a challenge blog.  Sara Zenger has been an amazing scrappy boss, and I will miss being her Warm-Up Coach.  ScrapFIT was one of my very first design teams, and I was a part of it for two years.  I want to thank Sara for giving little old me a chance when I first started out.  I'm also going to miss working with the DT members...such amazing talent.  I had a wonderful time, and I have a bunch of layouts to look back on and say, "I did that for ScrapFIT."  Lots of fun memories I won't soon forget :)

Now, on to happier things...like sharing pages!  I have three pages that I created for various goings-on at My Scraps and More recently.  This first page uses last week's Sketch from the My Scraps Sketch Blog...it's #13.  I used the Studio Calico Heyday collection.  This also was for a challenge in our One Little Word Crop...the challenges was to use the word "happy" on your page.  Books make my little Reese happy, so it was a perfect fit ;)

This layout went up on the blog today.  I'm using up what's left of the Echo Park So Happy Together collection...one of my faves!  There are a few odds & ends thrown in, but it's mostly EP.  I put the Cameo to use to create that circle background...I love how it turned out!  Very easy to make.

Finally, I created this page for this past Wednesday's {word} challenge.  "Remember" was the word to use.  I used up more of the October Afternoon Witch Hazel collection with a little bit of Fancy Pants thrown in.  I had to add in some pink since her shirt was pink.  I really like orange & pink together for some reason.  Again, I used the Cameo to cut the Remember frame & the word "fall."  I love that it can cut ANY font!  I love how it welds letters together...I'm so addicted.

Well, that's it for me today.  I need to get crackin' on some more pages...lots of fun challenges coming up.  Plus I just got my hands on some of the new MME and I can't wait to cut it up :)

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!
