Last Sketch for My Scraps Sketch-a-thon & some news!

Happy Saturday, friends!  I'm here today to share a page I made for the Sketch-a-thon over at My Scraps and More.  Today is the final sketch of the month :(  It's one that I created, and I really love it.  I wanted to scrap this camera pic of me and my friend Jennifer, and I knew that I wanted bright papers to go with it.  What better collection than AC's Sketchbook?  I haven't used it as much as I should...it's just so bright & beautiful.  You still have time to play with us if you'd like...you have a whole week to finish up any or all of the month's sketches.

Here is my sketch:

I also have some fun news to share....I made a new Design Team!  I'll be joining the talented ladies over at Love My Tapes!!  I'm very excited for this new venture, and I can't wait to get started.  I'm looking forward to working with the rest of the team.  Go HERE for the full announcement :)

Have a wonderful day, friends!  Thanks for stopping by :)

A few My Scraps pages

Hey, scrappy friends :)  Another busy week is coming to an end...and it's time I posted something!  I've got two pages to share today that I created for My Scraps and More recently.

The first page was created using last week's Sketch #21 over on the Sketch Blog.  You can play along for a chance to win a great prize, too!  I've been meaning to get these Christmas photos scrapped, and I thought this sketch worked nicely with them.  Since the photo strips are so busy, I didn't want to add too much more.  I used some papers from a GCD Christmas stack that I've had for over a year...I love the pinks mixed in!  The snowflakes are punched and the word Christmas was cut with my Cameo.  Using snowflakes on any of my pages is just funny since I live in Florida...haha!  Everyone has on shorts in the photos...who am I kidding?  :D

I had a spare moment to play along with the Sketch-a-thon, and I used one of Audrey's sketches.  I used papers from the Fancy Pants Hopscotch line, along with various washi tapes.  The background paper is AC, and I added lots of blue paint.  I cut the stars & title with my Cameo.  These pictures crack me up...Paige was okay with wearing this headband, but not Reese....I barely had time to take one picture!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful weekend & Easter if you celebrate it!

Ridin' High with Echo Park + new Layout Kits from My Scraps!

Happy Weekend, scrappy friends!  I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far.  We had a lot of stormy weather last night and our power kept going off.  I love rainy nights, but I hate lightning!  Too scary for me.  Thank goodness it finally subsided and our power was back close to 1am.

I'm here today to share a page I created based on one of my very own sketches!  I created the sketch for our Sketch-a-thon that is in its third week at My Scraps and More and still going strong.  If you haven't visited our boards and joined in the fun, you don't know what you're missing!

I used the new Echo Park All About a Boy collection...rainbow colors grab me everytime!  And even though I don't have a son, these colors are perfect for my girls :)  My oldest loves piggy back rides with her Daddy, so I couldn't wait to scrap them with these gorgeous papers & embellishments.  This collection is available in the store HERE.

Here's my sketch...a good one for multiple photos! If you're like me, you take tons of pictures of just one event, so you probably have tons to choose from.  I hope you like it and are able to use it for inspiration!

There is still plenty of time to join in on the Sketch-a-thon...a brand new sketch every day!  And there are fun prizes to be won, of course!

In other My Scraps news, you can now purchase a Layout Kit.  It's a new "kit" that you can purchase that includes almost everything you need to recreate a specific page.  The kit includes an exclusive sketch, a full color photo, and product to recreate the layout.  The first layout is one of mine, and if it's a page you'd like to make, then you can purchase all the ingredients HERE.  Check it out!!  It's only $12.99!

This is the page that you will be recreating:

She Shines

Hey there, friends!  I'm sharing a page today that I created for a challenge over at Pamela's World of Scrap.  She creates amazing sketches and has a huge prize giveaway twice a month.  I've always loved her sketches, and so I had some time to play along this time.

I used the stunning Yes, Please collection from American Crafts...these colors are gorgeous!  They remind me of sherbert on a hot summer's day.  I added in lots of random washi tape and some old brads I had.  The fabric colored ones are from K& Company, and I honestly think I've had them for over five years!  And the shiny brads are from Walmart...six for $.99!  Can't beat that!

A short & sweet post for today :)  Have a wonderful Thursday, and thanks for stopping by!

MME March Challenge

I had a few spare minutes this past week to play along with the March MME Challenge, which is to use their diecuts, journaling spots, shapes & embellishments.  I was in the mood to make something bright (which is what I usually do, right?!) so I pulled out the new My Girl collection.  I used lots of the chipboard pieces, the dimensional stickers, brads & a title piece.  This picture of Paige swinging was just begging for some bright MME to surround it :)

I actually cropped this closer than I wanted.  I traced around the square perimeter, but I couldn't get it photographed & cropped straight.  So I just cropped it out after many attempts to get it perfect.  The important parts are still visible :)

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a wonderful week!

Little Chunk & a tutorial

Hey there, scrappy friends!  I hope you're enjoying this beautiful Saturday.  I'm excited to share a page I created for the My Scraps & More Sketch-a-thon featuring the new Color Me Happy line from Glitz...and let me tell you, it does just what it says!  These gorgeous rainbow colors make me very happy just looking at them :)  You can purchase them in the My Scraps store HERE.

I created this page based on a brand new sketch that I designed for the Sketch-a-thon.  This picture of Paige is one of my favorites, and I really wish I could show you the unedited version...her little chunky hiney is just soooo cute!  But in this day and age, you have to be careful abut what you post online, especially when your kids are involved.  So I censored her tushy :)  But you still get the idea.

I used some gesso to white-out the background to give my paper layers some separation from the busy stripes.  I wanted it subtle and soft around the edges.  I had so much fun playing around with all of these colors.  I added the yellow, blue, orange and red solids, but the rest is Glitz.  I cut the "love" arrow & the word "chunk" with my Cameo.

Don't you just love these awesome rhinestones!  They are so cool...I had to restrain myself from using them all on this one page!  I decided to save some for my next page :)

I didn't know what color to cut my "love" arrows in, so I finally decided to cut it white.  Then, I watered down some rainbow colored paints and just washed it over the cut, making it a rainbow by itself.  I am really happy with how it turned out.

Here's the sketch I created.  What do you think of it?  I've only recently started creating them, and I'd love your feedback.

I also wanted to share a little tutorial I made for my GDT spot at My Creative Scrapbook. It's up on their blog HERE today, along with all of the pages I created using the beautiful March Main Kit. This was my first time doing a tutorial, and even though the process could be explained without photos, I always love to see pictures of a "how to." Don't you? :) Here it is... I'm now realizing that I should've taken these photos in better lighting...but it was raining that day and I didn't want to wait to finish my layout :)

And this is the layout that I used the lace on:

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful weekend :)

Challenge Me Happy #42

It's time for another fun challenge at Challenge Me Happy!  This one is a photo inspiration challenge.  Go HERE to see the photo.

Here's what I came up with.  I'm just loving the AC Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm line these days!  The vellum pages are my favorite.  I added a doily and some bits cut with my Cameo.  I also added a few flourish stamps.  The photo inspired me to use white, beige, & the flourishes.

The prize for this challenge is a pack of goodies from October Afternoon!  Definitely worth playing for :)  Hop on over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT came up with.

Have a great day!

A few My Scraps pages & something COOL!

Okay, I have to share my cool news first! I have a layout featured on the MME blog today! It's part of the March "I Spy," and I couldn't be more excited! I was overjoyed to receive the email asking if I'd like to be a part of it, and I jumped at the chance. I am a HUGE MME fan, so to have my washi-tape layout featured is a huge honor! Check it out HERE!!!

Today is another catch-up day for me!  I have three pages to share today that were all created for various challenges at My Scraps and More.  This first one was created for the March Sketch-a-thon going on right now (and all month long!) on our boards.  The DT is creating brand new sketches for every day this month, and this fun page was based on a sketch I created!  I've never been one to make them, but once I made one, I just had to keep going!  Super fun :)

Even though I have two daughters, I couldn't resist this new All About a Boy line from Echo Park.  The papers & colors just had me at hello :)  We do a lot of outdoorsy things, so it's perfect.  Plus my girls aren't the princess-girly-girl type, so this collection is awesome for them!  These photos were perfect for the sketch.

Here is the sketch I created....what do you think of it?

This page is based off of last week's sketch on the My Scraps Sketch Blog.  I used the new Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm line...I just love it!  I especially love the fun vellum & chipboard shapes.  Go HERE to see the sketch.  I flipped it on its side.

Finally, this page went up on the blog on Saturday...again, the Lucky Charm collection.  I added some paint to my background...what a perfect match!  This is quickly becoming one of my favorite lines these days :)

Well, that's it for today. Be sure to visit the My Scraps blog, sketch blog and boards for LOADS of fun! So many challenges & fun prizes to win! Have a GREAT day!

Guest Designing at My Creative Scrapbook

I'm so excited to share that I am a Guest Designer at My Creative Scrapbook this month!  When Delaina, the DT Coordinator, contacted me and asked if I'd do it, I didn't even think twice.  I'm very honored to be a a part of their team for March :)  Pam and Delaina are awesome, and the DT creates stunning work.  I can't believe I'm scrapping with them...woo hoo!

My Creative Scrapbook has a few different kits to choose from each month, and they're all AMAZING.  I got to work with the Main Kit.  It's full of 5th and Frolic from AC and Prima.  There are some adorable wood pieces included in the kit...birdies & butterflies...those are my favorite part!  Look how cute!

You can check out the other kits HERE.  There is so much to choose from!

I'm dying to show the projects I made with my Main Kit.  The colors are SO right up my alley, and these were papers that I hadn't got to play with yet.  This page was so fun to create!  One of the sheets has all these small frames, and I just cut them out and used small 2x2 photos in them.  My little Paige kept anticipating the flash from the camera, so before I even pressed the button, she'd start squinting her eyes!  Too cute :)  I added some watered-down paint for the background to add some more pink.  I also painted my birds & flower.  Those little wood pieces are so versatile!

A lot of the 5th and Frolic stickers relate to "home," so I wanted to do a page about being at home.  I just love the tree branch, and the little wooden birds are perfect here.  I layered a lot here and added some blue & yellow paint.  I added some of the blue paint to the patterned paper right behind my photo as well.

This page shows how you can use the gorgeous Prima stencil.  I simply rubbed some pink ink over it, and there you have a very pretty pattern.  I used three of the beautiful Prima flowers...they match these papers SO nicely!  I also colored the white lace included in the kit.  I have a tutorial on how I did that coming up later this month on the MCS blog.  I also painted the butterflies.

This is my final page.  I started with some Kraft cardstock and added some messy yellow streaks.  My silly child went through a phase where she slept with her hand down the back of her diaper...haha!  Reminds me of Al Bundy from Married With Children :D  I added lots of layers, and I cut the big heart with my Cameo.  I colored the lace pink for this page.  I also treated the wooden flowers as if they were buttons and added twine bows.  This picture just makes me laugh :)

That's it!  Thanks so much for visiting me today and checking out my pages!  Don't forget to check out the My Creative Scrapbook Kits HERE.  So much beautiful scrappy goodness!  Thank you so much to Pam and Delaina for having me...I had so much fun creating for you!
