Rainbow Bright {My Creative Scrapbook}

Hey, everybody!  I have a page to share today that just screams SUMMER!  It's my final page using the June Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  I have had SO much fun with the Mayberry collection from American Crafts!  I focused on the rainbow brights on this page, which matched up with Reese's rainbow swim suit perfectly :)

I added in the blue paint since I wanted that turquoise kick in the mix.  The reds, pinks, greens and yellows came together in the patterned papers and embellishments.  I just love the bright factor and the way it all came together.

I love this pop of red from the AC flower...and I like that it's peeking out :)

I painted my Thickers...a rainbow ombre effect.  Definitely doing this again!

A close-up of some of the layers...

I just can't seem to stay away from rainbows...they're just so beautiful, and I love all the colors mixed together.  It's a good thing my youngest daughter has inherited this swim suit now, so I'll have more reasons to use this spectrum again :)

Thanks for visiting me today, and have a great weekend!

2 Already {Love My Tapes}

Hey there, friends!  Today I'm sharing a fun and girly page I created for the Love My Tapes blog.  I really love using washi for all sorts of effects on my pages.  For this page, I added it in at the end to create subtle hints.  I used the LMT pink polka dot tape here and there to throw in little bits of pink in areas that needed it.  I also used the tiny blue grid tape for the same reason in various places.  That's what I love about washi tape...you can make it the center of attention on your layout, or you can tuck it here and there to give small hints of something interesting.  Check out some of the fun tapes HERE.

I was inspired by this month's sketch over at My Mind's Eye, and I used a mix of the Collectable collection.

Thanks for stopping by today, friends!  I hope this inspires you to create something today :)  Have a great weekend!

A Normal Day

Hey there, friends!  I finally broke into my Jillibean Soup stash...I just love this Chilled Cucumber Soup line.  The colors are to die for, and the patterns are so fun and go so well together.  I made this page for Sketch #33 on the My Scraps Sketch Blog last week.

I added some modeling paste using a lattice mask...I love the look and texture it creates!  I went over it with some golden yellow chalk and then some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Mustard.  The perfect match!

Here's the sketch:

You should hop on over and play with some of the weekly sketches...they're all awesome, and you just may win a prize!

Hello Love {My Creative Scrapbook}

Hey there!  I hope you're enjoying your weekend.  It has been beautiful here in Florida...but very humid.  I guess I should be used to the muggy factor down here since I've lived here my entire life, but it's still a pain.  And it's almost impossible to have a good hair day...haha.

Anyway.....I'm sharing a page I made with the June Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  I didn't realize how much I would LOVE the Mayberry line from American Crafts until I started working with it!  And I really love how they pop off the black cardstock.  For this page, I just started layering different pieces together.  I really love the big flower embellishment sticker...the perfect anchor for my title.

Thanks for taking a peek today...have a great Sunday!

Hello Pippy :)

It's Friday, friends....woo hoo!!  I'm sharing a fun page I created for one of the My Scraps Got Talent contest challenges.  It was a stamping challenge.  I have really been into stamping lately...especially my border stamps.  They are just so easy to use and they add interest to any project.  I finally pulled out my papers from Elle's Studio and created this layout.

It's pretty simple...I started out with white cardstock and used an old heart mask that I had cut on my Cameo a long time ago.  Some light spritzing over it and I had cute & subtle hearts.  I LOVE the colors in these papers...that blue has to be my favorite!  I layered several pieces and then added in a vellum piece, too.  I fussy cut the flower bundle from one of the pages and added a few clear buttons.  I also added a few small washi pieces.

We'd love to have you join us for our Got Talent contest.  It runs all summer long, and it's lots of fun!  There are so many challenges to play with and lots of fun prizes to win!  Go HERE to check it out.

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a great weekend!

Challenge Me Happy #48 & $200!!

Happy Wednesday, friends!!  This is a few days late, but I wanted to share the latest challenge up at Challenge Me Happy.  It's a RECIPE challenge...

You must use the following recipe on your layout:

More than one photo
Sewing
2 or more patterned papers
Washi tape
Sequins
Anchor

I put together a fun summer page.  I pulled out the Hello Summer line from Echo Park that I've had laying around for a LONG time and went to work.  I slapped down some yellow and orange paint on some white cardstock and then cut out the circle patterns on my Cameo.  I painted them blue.  I don't even remember how that idea came to me....I just felt like trying something different :)

I love the sticker pieces in this line...the cute little clouds & sun are perfect for a pool page.  One thing that threw me off was the anchor.  I realized at the end that I have NOTHING with an anchor on it.  So I just drew one and added it in.  Sometimes you just have to get creative :)

You can see what the rest of the DT created over on the blog.  You have until midnight June 30 to upload your NEWLY MADE project HERE.  The winner receives a prize I'd love to have...

Washi Tape!

In other super fun news, I won the Page Maps 7th Anniversary Sketch Challenge Contest!!  I won a $200 gift certificate to A Cherry on Top!!!!!!!!  WOO HOO!!!!  Talk about a day brightener....now that just totally made my day!!  Here's the layout I entered:

Thanks for stopping by today....I'm so happy you did!

Memories of You {My Creative Scrapbook}

Hey there, friends!  I hope your Monday is going wonderfully.  I'm sharing another page I created using the June Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook today.  I was so excited that I found a sunburst stencil at Michael's a few weeks ago, and I couldn't wait to use it on a summer layout!  I paired it with the American Crafts Mayberry goodies in the kit and this is what I came up with.  Summer pool pages are my favorite...all the bright colors just seem to come together so fast for me.

The Thickers in the kit are white, so I inked them red so they'd pop against the white and yellow.

I just love the cute little ribbons in the kit, too!  They add such fun little details :)

If you're a fan of bright colors and fun patterns, this June Main Kit is something you'll enjoy.  It's so easy to work with because all the yummy colors just flow together so nicely!  You can purchase a kit right HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by today....have a good one!

Father's Day projects {Love My Tapes}

Happy Friday!  I'm here with you today to share a few "manly" projects that I made for Father's Day over at Love My Tapes :)  I'm terrible at making masculine things...mainly because I have two daughters.  I mostly scrap girly things, so it's hard for me to keep things "boyish."  I decided to give it a try for this project, and it turns out it wasn't that hard after all :D

I pulled out some neutral colored washi tapes and made long strips of them on some cardstock.  Then I punched out different sized circles to scatter around my page.  I've had the fun mustache tape for a while, but I've never used it.  This layout was perfect, and I cut out some of the mustaches and used them as cute little embellishments!  Easy!

Washi tapes are so fun, fast and easy...and those circle embellishments took me no time at all.

I also threw together a card...and I don't particularly excel at making cards.  Especially "Dad" ones.  I went through my stash of old papers and found this red, white and blue striped piece.  I've been wanting to use this navy patterned tape for a while now, and it looked great against my paper.  I also added strips of the red & white striped tape to pull out some of the reds, and then topped it off with a strip of the mustache tape.  Easy and quick, and my dad will love it!

If I've learned anything from these projects, it's that venturing out and trying something new is okay.  And even if you're out of your comfort zone, it's nice to try something out of the ordinary for you.  I wound up liking both of these projects, even though they were intimidating at first.  You never know what you might come up with :)

You can purchase these and many other types of washi tapes HERE.  So much variety!

Have a great weekend!

Where Are You?

Hello there, and happy Thursday :)  I hope your Summer is starting off nicely.  Ours is nice and hot, and we've been spending the past few days in the pool.  I wish it was pool weather all year round :)

Here's a page I created for My Scraps and More last week.  I pulled out the newest lines from Lily Bee...Pinwheel and Sweet Shoppe.  I noticed right away that there were a lot of primary colors.  I was instantly inspired to create a rainbow of sorts.  I really love this chevron paper, but it's busy and overwhelming, so I used some black paint and my finger to create some separation between my photos and the background.  I also backed my paper strips and photos onto black cardstock to break up the busy-ness.

I also used matching paints to create drips.  I just held the bottle up to the paper and squeezed some out...easy!  I spritzed the streaks with water to help it drip a little better.

I cut my title with my Cameo...I just love that machine!

A close-up of the strips and the cute chipboard buttons.

Stickers and fabric-covered brads...woo hoo!

You can pick up these Lily Bee collections in the My Scraps store HERE.  Don't forget about our Got Talent Contest going on all summer long...plenty of fun challenges and lots of prizes to win!  Come join us!!

Thanks for taking a peek today, and have a wonderful Thursday!

Enjoy the Flowers + a paint tutorial

Happy Tuesday, friends!  Today I'm sharing another page I created using the fabulous June Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  I absolutely love all of the Mayberry goodies included from American Crafts!  They were perfect to scrap this photo of my little Reesie from a few springs ago.  Our azaleas were in full bloom and were the perfect backdrop for this little photoshoot.

I added a little texture to my background with a mask and some modeling paste.  I lightly chalked over it to give it slight pink touch.  The rest is layering and paint drips...and then adding in embellishments here and there.

Here is a quick tutorial I created for the MCS blog on how I create my big paint splatters.  If you don't have a medicine dropper, this is another way to do it and it works great!  Your fingers get messy, but who cares, right?!  :D

Have a great day!
