The Scrappiest

Talk about in the nick of time! I just have finished this layout for the latest challenge at The Scrappiest. I had the perfect photos for it, too!

Here is what I made...my favorite part (other than the adorable photos) is how I was able to make my border curvy. I love the effect it has! I stamped the flourish border around the edges, did a lot of misting and inking, and finished it off with a few buttons, ribbon & stitching.

Silly Slicker

Happy Memorial Day! I have a page to share with you. This is my little "Silly Slicker." When Paige was teething, she constantly had her fingers in her mouth, gnawing away on them. Her hands would be wet with slobber, and she'd touch the top of her head and slide her hands down her forehead. Her hair would be wet and it would be stuck to her head...so we'd always say how her hair was "slicked" down.

I've been in a "banner" mood lately...I love the look of them, streaming across the top of pages! You can't really see the "silly" part of the title unless you enlarge the photo...it's very subtle. I did a little stitching as well.

I love lollipop flowers! They're so easy to make.

A new reveal from ScrapFIT will be up on Wednesday! Yay! Stay tuned...

Scrapbookers Anonymous Challenge

I finally got to take part in the Scrapbookers Anonymous blog challenge! I always seem to run out of time and miss so many challenges. This one was so good...you were to use stamps to create patterned paper, and then use three more stamps somewhere on your page.

I created the pattern on the yellow piece of paper at the bottom. The date box, the text & flourish at the top, and the "Hello Darling" are all stamped. The flowers with the buttons in the center are also stamps. I don't use my stamps as often as I should...so this was a GREAT way to force me to use them!

Reese was playing on her bed one day, and I followed her in there with the camera. She tried to hide from me and gave me looks, like "Seriously, mom? Again with the camera?" I have to admit, I am always taking her picture. I can't help it!

Paper Thrills Challenge #11

The next challenge at Paper Thrills is up...and it's a cute sketch! Here is what I made for the DT. Be sure to head on over and check out the other layouts!

I started off by misting a large circle and then stitching another one around it. I loved the salmon color of Paige's outfit, so I used some papers from and old DCWV stack...Whimsy. I always used to think I had to use birthday papers for birthday photos...that is so not the case!

I embossed a few chipboard flowers with my Cuttlebug and then inked them.

Thanks for stopping by!

This face & Almost 1

Here are few "Paige" pages I'd like to share today. I used a new stack of papers from DCWV...The Playground Stack...for "This Face." All the papers are paper bag colored with muted colors...love them! The really make the photos stand out. I used a scalloped border punch, and even broke out my old deco scissors! You never know what you may pull out of your stash...haha!

These pictures are of my silly Paige last year. We always used this hook-on chair at restaurants, and she was being so funny here! I think she looks like she's had too much to drink...haha!

I don't sew by machine...AT ALL...but I wanted that "look" of machine stitching. I got creative and drew circles, and then just punched holes around them using a thumb tack. Up close you can tell, but when looking at it in an album, it looks real!

Talk about different styles of scrapping! If you browse through my pages, they are all so different...this one here doesn't even resemble my usual style. These are some of Paige's 11-month photos, and I wanted a soft & sweet page without a lot of crazy misting and randomness. I had seen this pleated paper idea before and wanted to give it a try. I love how it turned out!

Thanks for looking! I've got a few DT reveals coming up, so I've been working on those layouts. See you soon and happy scrappin'!

Cabin Fever

These are some pictures of Reese last January...it was a freezing cold day and she wanted to go outside and play so bad! She was running rampant all through the house, finding random things to do. She had a serious case of Cabin Fever!

I went mist crazy with this one! I am not usually one to use random papers, but I liked the different colors of all of these, sort of coming together unexpectedly (if that makes sense!). I liked the random arrows...they fit perfectly, since she was all over the place on this day! The crossword puzzle papers reminded me of being stuck inside, sitting, with nothing else to do.

I doodled a lot in different places, and I used a few rub-ons that I found in the dollar section at Michaels! I've discovered some really cheap scrappy treasures in that area :)

Thanks for looking! I'm working on a few DT projects that I can share later :) Have a great weekend!

A few layouts to share :)

Here are a few "just because" layouts. These are pictures from December 2009...I completely overlooked them while I was scrapping that month. I think I was saving them for last because I loved them so much!

This one came pretty fast for me. I used the Lime Rickey papers from Basic Grey. Once I had my papers picked out, the rest just fell into place.

Paper flowers are so fun to make! Who would've thought scrunched up paper could make such a cool embellishment?

Here is another page of Paige and me. These papers are from an old summer stack from DCWV. I love the navy blue mixed with yellow & pink. I have always called Paige "Pippy" or "Pip" so that is where the title comes from :)

Page Maps Contest

I saw this lovely sketch over at Page Maps, and saw the prize for this contest is a $35 gift certificate to A Cherry on Top! That is my favorite online scrappy store...although I haven't ordered anything from there in ages! Scrapping on a budget doesn't allow for many online shopping excursions these days. So I figured I'd have a go and possibly have the chance to win!

Here is the sketch:

Here is what I made...my little Flasher...haha! I used papers & embellishments from Echo Park's Springtime line.

Sketchy Thursdays GDT

I really liked the sketch for this month's Guest Design Team at Sketchy Thursdays. I wanted to scrap these cute pictures of Paige's crazy hair...it was all over the place on this day :)

For this challenge, we were to follow the sketch, but also be inspired by this beautiful tea cup picture. I loved the blue & coral colors, so I based my color scheme on that.

Here is what we were given:

And here is what I made. I misted the white paper with some Smooch, and used papers from my old Whimsy stack from DCWV. I love these soft colors! I added some buttons & floss, and created a lollipop flower.

I love these easy-to-make flowers!

Here is one more page to share...it's a close-up of Paige on her 11-month birthday :)

Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Paper Thrills Challenge #9

The latest challenge at Paper Thrills is up! I have never been one to follow color palettes...I usually let the colors in my pictures dictate what colors I use. This challenge follows a color scheme that I most likely would never use. Of course, I wound up LOVING the results!!

Here is the color palette:

Here is what I made. I got this magnificent idea for a messy circle background from a Lesley Langdon video on the Shimmerz blog. I knew right away that I wanted to attempt it, and I'm SO glad I did! All you need is some spritz and a cup. You should definitely check out all the ideas you can do with liquid color!

I did a lot of paper tearing, stamping, spritzing and dripping...what a unique background!

I had so much fun creating this...go check out the challenge! Thanks for looking!

Sketchy Thursdays 5.5

I'm so happy that I got to do a Sketchy Thursdays challenge this week! I have been busy lately, so it has been a while. I loved the circles on this one...and I knew right away which pictures I wanted to use. Whenever I do a photoshoot with my girls, I take TONS of pictures, and so many of them wind up being cute! I can't just pick one or two, so I used seven on this one! They were all just too cute to pass up :)

Here is the sketch:

And here is what I made. I flipped it, and I loved the way it turned out! It's my little Paige practicing using her spoon. Of course, she just wanted to play with, chew on it, throw it around...everything but eat with it. But it was still adorable! I misted around some punched circles to create the background...so easy and fast!

Thanks for looking! I have some design team layouts to reveal in a few days :)

Sassy Lil' Sketches 5.7 Reveal!

It's May 7th, which means it's time for another fabulous sketch at Sassy Lil' Sketches!! I had fun with this one. I used lots of Smooch (a really cool type of mist) and did lots of stitching. This is my little girl, Reese, who decided to lay herself down in the hallway of our house, cover herself up with her bear jacket and go right to sleep. I grabbed the camera, of course :)

Be sure to head on over to the blog to see what the other awesome design team members created! Everyone's layouts are so different...that's why I love scrapbooking :)

Painting a Background

I finished a layout of Paige playing with her Christmas toys from last year. I've been inspired by rainbows lately, and I decided to create a bright rainbow background for this page. The rainbow stacker toy made the decision for me...instant rainbow background! I love how the bold colors really pop off the black paper. I just dripped some craft paint on the paper and smudged it with my finger. So easy!

I punched 2-inch circles and painted them to match, added some stitching and some punched butterflies, and that's it! Quick & simple.

ScrapFIT #43 - Only You

How can it be May 1st already? Wow...this year is zooming right along! It's time for another fabulous workout at ScrapFIT! This is #43 and it's a title challenge. You must create a layout, card or project using "ONLY YOU" as your title. Be sure to include journaling to explain why this title fits your photos.

Here is what I came up with. This is a close-up of my sweet Paige, sucking her thumb. She's now almost 27 months old and she still loves her thumb! I just loved this picture because of her cute little lips and nose...all of her facial features are just so precious! I love watching her sleep.
