Happy Tuesday, friends! I'm back today with a new layout for the Paige Evans Design Team. I was so very excited when I saw Paige’s Unicorn Floatie cut file
and couldn’t wait to use it because we just got our hands on a real
unicorn floatie! You know you are a true scrapbooker when you can
visualize your layout in your head as soon as you see something and it
excites you more than anything…haha. I cut the unicorn on white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo and
the cool thing about this one is all the little pieces that go in the
mane, tail and horn are included so you can easily cut them separately
which is what I did. I pulled some light pink, light purple, and yellow
papers to match my unicorn from the Oh My Heart and Take Me Away collections
to cut all the tiny bits. I also sorted through all the collections to
find matching pieces and I love how it turned out.
I cut the unicorn pretty big so it took up a lot of room on my layout. This actually made it very easy to decide where to put my photo. Since those two things took up so much room, I knew I wouldn't need very many embellishments to finish it off. Here you can see the background detail I created using a stencil and modeling paste. I was going for waves, and I love how they turned out.
Ahhhh these colors! I love the soft pastels mixed with touches of gold and bright aqua. Here you can see the effect of using adhesive foam. The dimension and shadowing makes the unicorn pop right off the page.
Isn’t this unicorn the cutest? I added a bit of shading to make it a bit
more dimensional and realistic. I watered down metallic gold paint and
used a brush and my fingers to add the shadows. I added adhesive foam on
the back to pop it off the page.
I was thrilled to find that I still had some purple and yellow Take Me
Away Ephemera Die Cuts in my stash, so I used them as layers. I also
used some Take Me Away Chipboard Sticker pieces, some Pick-Me-Up
Chipboard Stickers and Ephemera Die Cuts, and lots of hearts from the
30-page #StickerBook.
This was so much fun to create! I love when the perfect photo collides
with the perfect cut file…magic! I hope you are inspired to try this fun
cut file on one of your layouts.
