Record It with My Mind's Eye

Hey there!  Friday is finally here...yay!  I hope you're able to squeeze in some scrappy time this weekend.

Have you had a chance to play with the new Record It lines from My Mind's Eye?  They are simply amazing.  They are all so different and can be used on just about any kind of project you're making.  The layout I'm sharing today features mostly overlays and journaling cards from two of the new collections (Just Splendid and Follow Your Heart).  It was up on the MME blog yesterday.

The only patterned paper I used was from the Just Splendid 6x6 paper pad.  I cut those arrows out on the right side.  The rest of the layout is cards and embellishments.

This patterned paper is one of my favorites!  I decided to cut each chevron/arrow out and have it pointing towards the photo.  I lightly inked and distressed the edges.

These overlays may be my ultimate favorite piece from the Record It lines...oh my!  They are just gorgeous!  I used two of them, and I love that they're transparent yet have loads of beautiful color.  I layered them slightly, but you can still see the pretty color they provide.

I cut this cute camera out and added some watercolor and enamel dots to it.  I raised it up so I could add a little depth and some thread.

This "Say Cheese" piece was cut from one of the journaling cards.  It's just so cute!  I used more of the enamel dots and some buttons and brads...they all just coordinate so perfectly with everything!  I love adding little bits and pieces to my pages.

Here you can see some of the watercolor.  I wanted to add in more pink, and watercolors make that so easy.  I also added in some of the older MME stamps.  Sometimes they add just the right touch in a spot that seems to be missing something.

So don't be afraid of trying out all those journaling cards on a layout.  They actually help it come together quickly because they're pre-cut and ready to use.  They're easy to layer and tuck behind photos, and they're easy to fussy cut if you want to.  The possibilities are endless!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
