Hey there, everyone! I'm so excited to be sharing a fun layout with you today featuring the new
Chickaniddy Crafts Twirly Girly collection! I'm up on the
blog today :)
For this page, I was immediately drawn to the fun peach image on the sticker sheet. I chose this "sweet" picture of my daughter and knew I wanted to make my title "Sweet as a Peach." I also really love this bright quilted patterned paper. I decided to use a lot of it on the upper half of my layout and leave some white space at the bottom to show lots of contrast.
I used the soft pink alphas from the sticker sheet for part of my title and I cut the word "peach" using my Silhouette Cameo. I traced around the edges with a gold pen. I just love touches of gold on my pages these days! I also created a fun banner using the triangle stickers.
Here I created lots of fun layers using various patterned papers, stickers, thread and a brad. Creating layers gives you lots of depth and dimension behind the photo.
Here is that sweet peach! I added a few pop dots underneath to raise it up, and I threw in some tangled thread and a little touch of washi tape.
Here is my mixed media bit on this layout. I used a stencil, some modeling paste and some watercolors to create this look. I like that it echos the triangles from the quilted paper and gives some color and interest to the white space at the bottom. This is a fun and easy way to jazz up any plain cardstock and give your layout a custom look.
I hope this inspires you to not be afraid to try a busy patterned paper in big doses on your layout. Just try a piece of it and create white space to give it some balance.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
