Guest Designing at Scrap Africa

Happy Wednesday!  I'm excited to share that I'm a Guest Designer at Scrap Africa...woo hoo!  I got to play along with the new sketch that was revealed yesterday.  You can see the blog post HERE.  The sketch is awesome, and I had so much fun using it for inspiration.  A huge thank you to Denise and Evgenia for inviting me :)

I pulled out lots of the Styleboard line from Crate Paper as well as some Plus One from Amy Tangerine for this one.  I wanted to pull the blues and pinks from the photo and go from there.  I also added in lots of gold.

My background began as white cardstock.  I got out some plastic and sprayed some blue and green mist all over it.  I sprayed water over it and sort of blended it a bit with a brush.  Then I laid my cardstock on top of it an smoothed my hands over it.  The result was a fun and watercolor look.  Then I took a 6x6 circle stencil and sprayed mist over it, and then used the stencil like a stamp.  I wanted a messy, random and watery look, and I like how it turned out.

I was so excited about these wooden frames!  They're from Michael's (the Recollections brand). I embossed them with gold embossing powder...aren't they adorable!  I'm loving shiny gold these days :)  LOVE the vellum hearts from CP!

So many layers here...paper, wooden frame, more paper, vellum, washi tape, a vellum film strip from CP, and some thread.  I'm loving the depth here.

More glitter and vellum hearts...I wish I had more of those!

I love this transparent Hello circle.  It matched my color scheme perfectly.  I added "cutie" and then added more tid bits for layering.

Here's the sketch:

I had a great time guesting for Scrap Africa...you should check out the blog and see all the interpretations of the sketch.  You will love everything you see!

Thanks for checking in today, and have a great Hump Day!
