Best Ever Big Book / My Scraps & More

Hey, friends!  Today I'm sharing a layout I created for My Scraps & More last week.  One of my June Challenges was to take some old alpha stickers from your stash and alter them somehow.  Since my page was about my little Paige "reading" her favorite big book, I decided to take my small alpha stamps and create random letters on my big white Thickers.  I love how it turned out!  I also took a red gelato and added some red smudges.

I used the new Public Library line from October Afternoon for this.  It's a GREAT line for any type of reading layouts :)

I started with this busy book text paper as my background.  I took some beige acrylic paint and added it to some gesso to tone down the bright white.  I coated most of the background with it, and then I used watercolors to create different colored strips.  I backed all the photos with patterned papers and then just added embellishments here and there.

I love raising up my photos with pop dots.  It creates such great dimension.  All the stickers and ephemera are so fun in this line!

More layers here...I love the flair buttons...omg!  They are so fun to play with.  I also used a few rub-ons here...I believe they're from a Heidi Swapp package I picked up at Michael's a really long time ago.

My favorite part of the layout...which was really an experiment.  First of all, I was out of all the Os.  So I took some lower case "q" and made them into Os.  That's why they're kind of wonky looking.  I love how the stamped alphas turned out!

Thanks so much for visiting me today...have a great week!
