ScrapFIT's WWU #13 -- The Bear Jacket

The Weekend Warm-Up is new at ScrapFIT! It's a 2-week challenge featuring PAPER STRIPS. I created this layout as a sample for everyone, and I wanted to share it on my blog with you. This is Reese in her big winter coat..aka The Bear Jacket :)

I used some Echo Park Life is Good papers. Paper strips are a great way to make your patterned papers last! If you're like me, you don't want to use them all up in one layout. So a little goes a long way!

I like the look of this ribbon...pleating it gives is a whole new dimension.

I also used some old alphas in random colors for a mask...I'm definitely doing this again!

If you'd like to enter this challenge, head on over to the ScrapFIT blog! The winner gets to be featured in our guest FITGirl Spotlight!

Baby Gene Simmons?!

It's time for another ScrapFIT Reveal! This is Workout #51, and it's all about using BLACK & WHITE with only one other color. I couldn't wait to scrap these funny pictures of Paige! She has the longest tongue, and every time she sticks it out I immediately think of Gene Simmons from KISS! So I decided to to a grungy-rocker-type layout since I actually used a picture of Gene on here...haha!

I used an empty pop dots backing packaging as a stamp. I painted some black paint on it, stamped it, and there you have it! Messy black circle stamp! I cut the big star from vellum. I don't use vellum enough!

ScrapFIT is providing the prize for this challenge. Check out this fun kit you could win!
Upload your layout, card or other project on the ScrapFIT blog before the end of September, and you could win!

Cuteness has arrived!

Here is a layout I did just for the fun of it...no challenges at all. I love these pictures of Paige. I was inspired by the beautiful colors of her outfit, and I combined a few different random papers. Some are from Doodlebug, and the star paper...I have had it for years! I have no idea where it came from, but it matches perfectly!

I cut some stars & popped them off the page.

I also cut the Ta-Da using Plantin Schoolbook & popped them off the page, too.

Thanks for stopping by!!

I also wanted to share a layout I made recently using sketch #134 from The Scrappiest. I used papers from last year's Valentine stack from K & Company.

I learned how to make these cute little bows using a fork!

I love these little alphabet stamps...Walmart now has them for $1! Great for journaling :)

Another Sweet Peach layout

I wanted to share with you another layout I made using the Sweet Peach Crop Shop August Juicy Kit.

This was a bittersweet moment...Paige's last bottle. She was about to turn one year old, and I wanted to start her on a sippy cup. I was worried that she would have trouble with it because technically she only had one bottle a day (I was nursing the rest of the time). I'd pump her some milk while I went to the gym in the afternoons. She did great with the sippy! She took to it like she'd been using it forever. I just love how she'd hold the bottle at the bottom!

I used a bird mask / screen to create the large bird shape, and I love how it turned out.

I used a button from the July kit, and the string of pearls are from my own stash. I think they go perfectly with the colors in this kit.

I love the Studio Calico paper with these pretty different colored birds! I couldn't resist cutting a few out.

Thanks for your visit! Have a great weekend!

Paper Thrills Reveal

There is a really pretty sketch up over at Paper Thrills this week. I finished off Paige's 1-year photo shoot using this sketch. I always take way too many photos, and I can't ever decides which ones to scrap...so I wind up scrapping the majority of them!

Here's what I created.

I decided to cut some of these pretty flowers from patterned paper and scrunch them up a little. I added a pearl to the centers.

I like partially hidden flowers...

Head on over to the blog & check out the sketch and see what the other DT members created. Have a great day!

The Scrappiest #133 & The Paper Variety

Yay! I'm so excited to share this layout for two different challenges. I used the latest sketch from The Scrappiest and combined it with The Paper Variety's latest challenge...use some kind of threads on your project.

Here's what I came up with. Pictures of Paige poking her little lips out! She used to do this and put her little fingers up to her mouth, like she loved to feel them! I love these baby lips!

I used a random old stack of papers for this...I think I bought this gigantic stack from Walmart a few years ago, but I love the pink, orange & brown together. I added some punching, some ribbon & stitched around the edges & the circle.

I made this ribbon flower...so easy! All you need is a circle base, some ribbon & some hot glue.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back throughout the week for some more scrappy sharing :)
