I'm having a giveaway over on my YouTube channel! So all you have to do is go leave a comment and in a few days I'll pick a random winner to receive a FREE printed copy of Volume 4!
You can find the sketch I used in the book, but I can share my layout with you! I stuck pretty close to the sketch. As you can see, it uses two 4x4ish photos and some background circles. I went with black & white photos since I wanted to use lots of color. I used some beautiful Webster's Pages papers as well as some Simple Stories. I used lots of Shimmerz Paints on the background and embellished with some puffy sequins and wood veneer hearts from Pinkfresh Studio. I also pulled in some flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons.
The first thing I did for this was give my cardstock a coat of gesso. Then I used the packaging technique with lots of Shimmerz to create a watercolor effect. I used one of Kristine's cut files HERE on my Cameo using different patterned papers, I arranged them in off-centered layers. I love how you can see the Shimmerz peeking through the circles and around the outer edges. I fussy cut some flowers from a Simple Stories paper and punched some leaves from some Hobby Lobby papers using two old Martha Stewart leaf punches. You can also see where I stitched through the circles.
I went back in and cut a few more regular thin circles on my Cameo which I painted with silver Shimmerz. I wanted to tone down a bit of the brightness, and these circles did just that. Plus I like how the silver pulls some of the grey tones from the photos. I scattered the puffy sequins and wood veneer hearts around the page like confetti, which is also on the sketch.
Here you can see one of the beautiful flair buttons I used. I added some thread under it and then came in with a few of the Tim Holtz phrase stickers.
Here's the other side of the page...another flair, more sequins and wood veneer and a cute Evalicious heart camera paper clip.
This was so much fun to put together! Sketches make it fun and give you a great starting point. Some of my most favorite layouts have been from using sketches! Be sure to grab a copy of this sketchbook....there are so many designers featured and a ton of sketches and ideas!
Here's the process video for this layout...I hope you enjoy!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a great weekend!
I love the bright colors! FAbulous layout!
