I made these two items for a friend's baby shower gift, and I wanted to share them with you. About a year ago, I decorated an R and a P for my daughters' bedroom doors. My friend is having a little girl, to be named Charlotte, so I thought I'd make her a C for her door :) Her nursery theme is ladybugs, so I knew the direction I wanted to go in. I used my Cricut to cut the ladybug & words, and I embossed the black paper with my Cuttlebug. I used several sized punches for the circles, and then added lots of buttons, rhinestones, ribbon, floss & flowers!
I also made her a picture frame. I painted it red and then added the black dots. Again, I used my Cricut to cut the cute little ladybug at the top, and then added buttons, floss, a ribbon border, rhinestones & some Puffies!
I also painted the wooden letters for her name. I stamped on the pink letters with a dot patterned stamp...love that effect!
Here are the R & P I made a few years ago...they look so cute on their bedroom doors!
I hope she liked these...I wanted to keep them for myself :) Thanks for stopping by! I'll have more to show you in a few days with the ScrapFIT reveal coming up!

I'm One & First Birthday
I really wanted to make some balloons to match the ones on Paige's outfit, and I think these turned out cute! I wanted this to be a soft, girly-type layout. Her outfit was a salmon color, which is hard to match up in scrappy colors. I played on the pinks, greens, & yellows, and I like the results!
This layout is the complete opposite...I wanted bold & bright! So I printed the photo in black & white, since that salmon color was haunting me. I just had to get her this outfit, but I didn't realize how hard it would be to scrap. Haha...you know you're a scrapper when you start to plan outfits according to colors appropriate for scrapbook pages!
I've had this really bright yellow birthday paper for a few years and I've never had the right photo to use with it. I wanted to use it, but not on the entire layout, so I made solid strips of matching colors. I added buttons with floss bows, and I couldn't be happier with it! I love how the colors just pop.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my work! Have a great week!

Paper Thrills Reveal!
This week's challenge is up at Paper Thrills...it's a color palette challenge! When I first saw it, I didn't think I'd be able to make it work. But when I saw these cute pictures, I knew they'd be perfect!
Here is the palette:
And here is my layout. I decided to start with a plain white piece of cardstock and make my own background using mists. I've used this technique before...all you need is a plastic up with the bottom end cut out. Place the cup where you want it and spray the mist through the bottom end...the more you spray, the more it can drip once you hold the paper up. I saw this awesome technique done by Lesley Langdon on the Shimmerz Blog...and I LOVE doing it!
I wanted to loop some floss around...something I've never done but love the look of.
And I couldn't resist making this little piggy once I knew the title of this page!
Not the usual color scheme for me, but AGAIN...I LOVE how it came together! This is why I love challenges....it pushes me out of my comfort zone...and that is when I ususally LOVE my layouts!
Thanks for looking!

More BIRTHDAY pages
Yep, I'm still scrapping Paige's 1st birthday pictures :) Here are few more pages I've been working on...
I love this one! Paige's party was a Safari theme, so I made & printed her invitations with a few little animals on them. I knew I wanted to use my Create a Critter cartridge with this one, so I made all the little animals that were in her party decorations. I used some papers from a DCWV birthday party stack.
Funny story about this little turtle...I had all my animals cut and they were sitting on my scrappy desk. Well, when I wasn't looking, Paige comes along and grabs them and proceeds to chew on the turtle!! As you can see, he's been abused and decapitated!! I still used him, though, and I figured it gave him a special look since this page is for Paige and she "decorated" him herself...HAHA!
A close up of the cute little monkey!
I used papers from the same stack for this page. I made both of Paige's cakes...the Big 1 for everyone to eat and the monkey for her to smash up. She did NOT like the cake...poor thing cried! But it was fun making them :)
This big cupcake is a rub-on...from Fancy Pants, I think. I fussy cut the banner from some paper! Love banners!
I'm really in the mood for buttons lately...and floss bows!
Thanks for looking! Tomorrow I'll have another layout to share for the Paper Thrills reveal :)

A layout & a card
I have another 1st birthday layout to share. I had so many pictures of Paige with different family members, and I wanted to put them all on one page...so I printed little 2x2 pictures. I had an old Sketchy Thursdays sketch saved and it was perfect for this! I created this also with "numbers" in mind. That is the latest Weekend Warm-Up at ScrapFIT for the next two weeks...create something that focuses on numbers.
Here is the sketch I used:
I hardly ever make elaborate cards for some reason. I have this image of the person who receives it just tossing it into a drawer or throwing it away...and I hate that idea of good scrappy materials going to waste! I made this one, though...and I love how it turned out. I think I'll keep it for myself until I decide to be brave enough to give it to someone...haha! I used the latest card sketch at Sassy Lil' Cards.

I have to say...I bought a few $1 wooden stamps from Michaels the other day, and I loved this You're a Superstar one. However, once I stamped it and actually looked at it, I noticed it is grammactically WRONG! Instead of "You're" it says "You r'e" which makes no sense! I had to correct it because it bugged me! If you look closely, you can tell where I doctored it up :)
Thanks for looking! Have a fantastic weekend :)

ScrapFIT #46 School's Out for Summer & Sketchy Thursdays
I'm so excited about this reveal at ScrapFIT!! I tried my hand at creating a mini-album. They've always intimidated me, but I jumped right in head first, and I have to say...I LOVED making it! Each page was like a mini-scrapbook page, and it was a lot of fun!
Workout #46 is all about school being out for summer. See if you can create a layout, card or other project using various "school" related items. You can do this a number of ways, maybe with some school themed paper, or get creative with some school stamps, include a math equation or maybe you have some great school supplies you can use on your layout! Put your best effort in and lets see if you can get A+!
Here is my album....all the pictures of my girls' pre-school portraits :)

A few cute pages to share :)
I have a few pages to share with you today :) This first one is of Paige opening her gifts on her 1st birthday last year. I have a lot of birthday party pics, so I'll be scrapping them a lot lately, since I have all my birthday themed stuff out! I found this Best Creation number paper stuck in a random spot in the middle of my multi-colored stack...and it was perfect for this! I stitched circles around all the "1"s. I used a Page Maps sketch...actually it's one that I used recently!
Here is Reese in one of her many Valentine's shirts I got for her last year :) She was so sweet posing for me. I got creative with my background paper. I have these little plastic containers that I keep random scrappy things in, and they have holes in them. I used one as a mask! LOVE how it turned out! I also made the tags and misted white cardstock for all the other shapes (circle, rectangle, title block, etc.). The only patterned paper I used was the 12x12 background. The rest started out as plain white.

Paper Thrills Reveal
There is a new weekly challenge up at Paper Thrills! This one is about scrapping photos you normally wouldn't scrap. Bad photos, out-of-focus photos, or pictures that you just didn't think were "scrapworthy." I used some pictures of Reese...it was a random weekend morning. Her hair was a total mess. She had a huge bruise on her forehead, and she wasn't really doing anything in particular. In one photo, she's turning the pages of a book and the page is right in front of her face. I hadn't planned on scrapping these, but I'm glad I did! I think the page turned out pretty cute :)
I stamped the little "checklist" at the bottom...I found these alpha stamps in the $1 at Michaels!! A whole $1 for the entire alphabet...they're perfect for little journaling areas like this!
Be sure to check out what the other DT members created with their "bad" photos!

Page Maps - MLS Contest
It's another Page Maps contest! I loved the sketch as soon as I saw it and couldn't wait to create a layout from it!
Here is the sketch. I flipped it so my pictures would fit better.
And here is my layout. I used a piece of corrugated cardboard that I cut from a diaper box as a stamp and used craft paint. I LOVE the sketchy lines that it created! I'll definitely use this technique again. I used papers from the Love Me Do line from MME. I've had it for a long time, and I love how the colors contrast with the black & white photos.
Thanks for stopping by!
