Last layout of 2010!

I printed these pictures of my sweet Paige just playing around on her jungle gym from last year. I immediately thought of my Create a Critter Cricut cartridge...I LOVE that one! Every single little animal on it is SO adorable! The giraffe looks exactly like the one on her little jungle gym (although you can't see it here). I may just have to make an alphabet book using all those cute animals :)

Happy New Year!!

Cricut Experiments

I'm having so much fun playing around with my new Cricut Lite cartridges! (Thanks, Mom!) I used two different ones for these two layouts. For this first one, I used the Bloom cartridge. I LOVED the trees on this one...they are just so cute! I realized I forgot to emboss the trunk AFTER I adhered the leaves...so they got embossed, too :) There are tons of cute flowers and stems on this cart, too...I just want to cut them all out now! I misted the background on this one. I wanted to keep the colors soft.

I also used Bloom on this one...the big tree...love it! I used the Live Simply cartridge for the adorable raccoon and hedgehog. There are so many cute animals on there! I had no plan for this page. I just wanted to cut the animals, and then I decided to create some kind of landscape page...so I went to glimmer misting. Then I figured, "why not make some grass?" Then I inked some light clouds and stickled them (it's hard to see in the picture). Then I was in the mood to add a sun...and some stitching...then I realized I needed to throw the pictures in there somewhere! I'd call this one an true "whimsical, glue-as-you-go" layout...haha! (Obviously I cut the animals first...since they are way too big for the page...but who cares? I still think it's cut!!)

Artful Delight Entry & one more

I found a cute new blog with fun contests! It's called Artful Delight, and I created this layout for their latest contest. Here is the sketch:

Here is my layout. I misted the background in pink, and then traced a big bracket shape onto patterned paper. I stitched around the edges. I used a Martha border punch and lots of ink. I created hybrid flowers...part crinkled up misted paper, part packaged flower. I inked and stickled the brads in the middle. Paige had three teeth here...the top two are there, but it's hard to see with the shadowing.

Here's one more...same photo shoot. I always take way too many pictures, and it's so hard not to scrap them all! Luckily, my photo printer can print 2x2 pictures, so I can work with multiple prints on the same page :)

I got a few Cricut Lite cartridges for Christmas from my mom, and I used the Lite Lacy Labels cartridge to cut the big pink scalloped circle. I saved all the cut outs and made this cute little flower! I wasn't sure what I was doing...I just started gluing. I added a button, and it turned out pretty cute.

Sketchy Thursdays 12.16 and a few more :)

Woo hoo! I actually got a Sketchy Thursdays layout done in time. I couldn't resist these darling pictures of my little Reesie :) I am not a huge fan of red, but I loved the bold and bright color of her shirt. I used papers that I found at the Target $1 section over a year ago. I love how the red coordinated with the turquoise...a great color combo! I used a Martha border punch and, of course, my homemade glimmer spray!

Here's a Paige page...haha. This is from a year ago...I just love her little face and feet! I used random patterned papers on this one...I just felt like digging into my stash and seeing what I could come up with that would coordinate. I embossed the pink scalloped cardstock with my Cuttlebug...I love that thing!

This is the last picture of Reese's 3-year photo shoot. I used my Martha Stewart embossed flower punch (although you can't see the embossed parts because it's on patterned paper). I love the brown scalloped ribbon...it's velvety and I found it at Big Lots for $1! I love bargain scrapping :)

More of Reesie Cup :)

Here are two more layouts of Reese's 3-year photo shoot from last November. Just wanted to share them!

These are papers from Prima...every page is so pretty! I misted the background...hadn't done that in a while.

These are also Prima papers. Those blue flowers were on clearance at Michael's months ago. I bought them, and they sat there for the longest time. They finally coordinated with a layout! I thought I'd probably never use them. You never know what colors you'll be working with...

Pagemaps MLS Layout Entry

I just found this last night! So I busted out this layout this afternoon. The prize is just too good to pass up! Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on it...

I just had to use this blingy smiley face...I've had him for a while. I found him in the $1 pile at JoAnn's while waiting in line about a year ago!

Check out all this scrappy goodness! What a prize to win!

A few new pages

What a busy time of year! I've hardly had any scrappy time lately...these are from my tiny bits of "me" time over the past week. I've been making little crafts for my daughters' school this week, so that has occupied most of my time. Plus they've both been sick.

These pages are all of Reese. For this first one, I used a really thick piece of chipboard...I have a bunch of flowers and stems. I embossed it using my Cuttlebug and it actually worked! I thought it might be too thick, but it did lightly emboss it. I then inked it and doodled on it. I also used my loopy loop Martha Stewart punch...I love her punches! I lifted one of Jana Eubanks' layouts for this one.

I used a Sassy Little Sketches sketch for this one...I love how it turned out. I love the color scheme. I used papers from a stack of Prima patterned paper. I also used another chipboard flower.

This is one of my favorite pictures...Reese is so photogenic! I used Prima papers again on this one, and two handmade flowers I've had for a few months. They finally matched something I was making! They are so easy to make...it just takes time to cut out all the flower shapes on your Cricut. Once that is done, you just spritz them until they're wet, wrinkle them up really good, heat them with your heating tool, bend them a little more, and glue them together with a pearl in the center. The color possibilities are endless! I used a sketch from Beggahuna that I found while surfing different blogs.

The Christmas Tree Hunt

These pictures are from last year at the Christmas tree lot. It was Paige's first Christmas, so it was extra special. For these pages, I used some stamps and rub-ons...I forget how both can give such wonderful detail!

I used some border stamps (dots) on the sides of this one...and some old Christmas tree & flourish rub-ons.

I used the same dot stamp on this one, and more tree rub-ons from my old [very old] stash!

3 New Layouts!

Wow...it seems like forever since I've posted. Only a week, but that's a long time in scrappy blogging land :) Over the past week, I've worked on these three layouts.

This is the last of Paige's 9-month photos. I really do get carried away when taking pictures...her one-year book is going to be so thick! I used my leaves Sizzix die for the viney leaves. I used white paper, though, and inked them to make them green. Inks are so cool!

This is from Reese's 3-year photo shoot last year. She actually turned 3 in September, but her photoshoot didn't happen until November. There are several more from this shoot coming up in future pages, so expect to see more of her!

I pulled out the old DCWV Sweet Stack for this one...mainly because Paige had a cupcake on her onesie. I have all the matching chipboard shapes and stickers, so I had fun sorting through everything. I inked around the edges using white chalk and a scalloped template...instant depth! Love that look.

Using old sketches

I have two new layouts to share today. I have so many sketches saved on my computer, and I used two that I've had saved for a while.

This one is from Sketchabilities. I printed this picture in black & white so I could use some not so "girly" colors. These are from a huge stack of KI Memories papers. I love the color scheme & designs!

This is a Julie Bonner sketch. I just love everything she creates!

Nine Months :)

Here are two more layouts from Paige's nine-month photo shoot. Hard to believe I took these a year ago! Where does the time go?

I dug out some old stamps I had...a whole sheet of stitches, flourishes and dots. I love how I can create the "stitched" look without actually sewing.

For the title on this one, I used some really flashy, shiny gold chipboard letters. I sanded them down and ran a light blue ink pad over them. The scallops were made using a Sizzix border die.

More layouts of my silly girl :)

I have more layouts to share today! This first one is of Paige's 9-month photo shoot. I sort of went crazy each month until she turned one :) I have lots more to come. I lifted this one from a digital layout I found on the web. It has lots of layers and textures.

This one was fun...Paige seems to know every yoga pose! She does downward dog, upward dog, cat stretch, frog...and she even throws in several leg stretches :)

This was fun to make...I took a plain white sheet of cardstock and used a big scalloped sheet in the center. I stamped all around it, creating the pretty background design. I loved how it turned out!

Sketchy Thursdays & My Little Sketch Blook

I completed two layouts for two different sketch challenges this weekend.

The first one is for Sketchy Thursdays. First of all, I need to say that in the bigger picture, it looks like Reese's legs are all dirty and bruised. It's the shadowing from the hut she's in! She did have a knee scrape, but that's it, I promise!

Here is what I submitted to the latest sketch challenge at My Little Sketch Blook. Liz Qualman's sketches are so pretty!

I love playing with photo editing. I loved how this one turned out!

A few more layouts...

It's Friday! I have a few new layouts to share today. They are all pictures of Paige from last November.

I used a 12-inch scalloped template on this one. I used white ink chalk around the edges. I also used a heart die-cut (Sizzix) to cut the flowers up top from patterned paper. (I own a Cuttlebug, but the Sizzix dies work in it! Woo Hoo!) Paige's "thing" at this time was to suck one of her thumbs while trying to stick her other pinky in her mouth at the same time. (Now, one year later, she still sucks her thumb!)

I used last week's Sketchy Thursday sketch, but I didn't finish it in time to submit it for the weekly contest. I just love these close-up pictures of Paige's face...little baby parts are just so cute!

For this one, I used papers from an old stack from Walmart that I've had for a few years. Whenever I go through my old stash, it's like going shopping because it's like new stuff I forgot I had! I started with white cardstock. I used a few flourish chipboard shapes for masks, and I spritzed with some green and pink mist. I love the loopy border...a Sizzix die that works in my Cuttlebug! Yeah! I traced one of the chipboard flourishes onto patterned paper and cut it out. I do that a lot so I save my actual chipboard...it has so many uses!

2 New Layouts

I have two more layouts to share...I love how they both turned out!

For this one, I misted the background paper, which is pretty subtle. The papers are from an old colleciton I bought fro Oriental Trading over a year ago! I had forgotten I had it, and I loved how it coordinated with the background cardstock.

This is another one of my favorite pictures of Reese. I tried out some stamps I've had for a while. I like the way it ties some brown into the blue & green mix. I also used a bracket-shaped piece of paper as a template and inked around the edges to give the soft look of a border.

Sugary Sweet Homework...?!

Although it has been a busy week, I managed to complete two more layouts of my sweet Paige.

For my first layout, I used this cute sketch from Sketch Savvy. I stumbled upon their sketch blog and I love every sketch I found! Soooo cute.

Here's my interpretation...I bought this pack of Colorbok papers at Joann's over a year ago. In the past few months, I have found matching stickers and rub-ons at Big Lots for $1! I was so excited that they matched and finally decided to pull them out and use them.

For this layout, I used a Jana Eubank sketch. Again, I love every single one of her sketches. I love the brackets in this one!

Here is what I came up with. Reese had a picture to color for school, and Paige decided to check it out :)
