ScrapFIT #45 - Around the House & Sketchy Thursdays :)

It's June 1st, which means it's time for another awesome workout at ScrapFIT! This challenge is about using thing around the house to aid in your layout, card, or other project. You have to get creative with this one!

I wanted to scrap these pictures of Reese running around, enjoying the nice sunny weather. I used her sandal to make shoe prints...just like she ran right across the page. I love how this turned out!

I also created a banner from patterned paper...LOVE banners!

I added some more clouds and some cute buttons to the sun :) I stickled the clouds, which made the paper kind of buckle, but I think it looks more realistic this way!

The Scrappiest

Talk about in the nick of time! I just have finished this layout for the latest challenge at The Scrappiest. I had the perfect photos for it, too!

Here is what I made...my favorite part (other than the adorable photos) is how I was able to make my border curvy. I love the effect it has! I stamped the flourish border around the edges, did a lot of misting and inking, and finished it off with a few buttons, ribbon & stitching.

Silly Slicker

Happy Memorial Day! I have a page to share with you. This is my little "Silly Slicker." When Paige was teething, she constantly had her fingers in her mouth, gnawing away on them. Her hands would be wet with slobber, and she'd touch the top of her head and slide her hands down her forehead. Her hair would be wet and it would be stuck to her head...so we'd always say how her hair was "slicked" down.

I've been in a "banner" mood lately...I love the look of them, streaming across the top of pages! You can't really see the "silly" part of the title unless you enlarge the photo...it's very subtle. I did a little stitching as well.

I love lollipop flowers! They're so easy to make.

A new reveal from ScrapFIT will be up on Wednesday! Yay! Stay tuned...

Scrapbookers Anonymous Challenge

I finally got to take part in the Scrapbookers Anonymous blog challenge! I always seem to run out of time and miss so many challenges. This one was so good...you were to use stamps to create patterned paper, and then use three more stamps somewhere on your page.

I created the pattern on the yellow piece of paper at the bottom. The date box, the text & flourish at the top, and the "Hello Darling" are all stamped. The flowers with the buttons in the center are also stamps. I don't use my stamps as often as I should...so this was a GREAT way to force me to use them!

Reese was playing on her bed one day, and I followed her in there with the camera. She tried to hide from me and gave me looks, like "Seriously, mom? Again with the camera?" I have to admit, I am always taking her picture. I can't help it!

Paper Thrills Challenge #11

The next challenge at Paper Thrills is up...and it's a cute sketch! Here is what I made for the DT. Be sure to head on over and check out the other layouts!

I started off by misting a large circle and then stitching another one around it. I loved the salmon color of Paige's outfit, so I used some papers from and old DCWV stack...Whimsy. I always used to think I had to use birthday papers for birthday photos...that is so not the case!

I embossed a few chipboard flowers with my Cuttlebug and then inked them.

Thanks for stopping by!

This face & Almost 1

Here are few "Paige" pages I'd like to share today. I used a new stack of papers from DCWV...The Playground Stack...for "This Face." All the papers are paper bag colored with muted colors...love them! The really make the photos stand out. I used a scalloped border punch, and even broke out my old deco scissors! You never know what you may pull out of your stash...haha!

These pictures are of my silly Paige last year. We always used this hook-on chair at restaurants, and she was being so funny here! I think she looks like she's had too much to drink...haha!

I don't sew by machine...AT ALL...but I wanted that "look" of machine stitching. I got creative and drew circles, and then just punched holes around them using a thumb tack. Up close you can tell, but when looking at it in an album, it looks real!

Talk about different styles of scrapping! If you browse through my pages, they are all so different...this one here doesn't even resemble my usual style. These are some of Paige's 11-month photos, and I wanted a soft & sweet page without a lot of crazy misting and randomness. I had seen this pleated paper idea before and wanted to give it a try. I love how it turned out!

Thanks for looking! I've got a few DT reveals coming up, so I've been working on those layouts. See you soon and happy scrappin'!
