Challenge Me Happy #16 :)

It's time to reveal the newest challenge at Challenge Me Happy! Challenge #16 is a RECIPE challenge, which means you must include the following on your layout:

1 photo

2 different cardstocks

3 journaling spots/tags/etc

4 words in the title

5 patterned papers

6 butterflies

Mist/ink/paint & border punches are freebies!

This was fun, but it was definitely a challenge! I really had to stop and think about my patterned papers. I used only five, and my two cardstocks are the Kraft background and the blue. I stamped my six butterflies, and I made my three journaling spots work in various places.

Daily Dose of Adorable

Hey there, scrappy friends! I wanted to share one last layout for the month that I created for the Scrapbookers Anonymous January Challenge, which was to use masking. I knew I wanted to do this one as soon as I saw it, but time just flew by and I'm just now finishing it! I love mists & masking, so this was right up my alley :)

I used the backing from some Pink Paislee hexagon chipboard shapes, and then stamped it a few times.

I based this design on this cute sketch from Artful Delight. I missed the deadline to enter into their sketch contest...but I still loved the sketch!

Have a great Monday! I have a few reveals coming up this week, so stay tuned :)

Bird is the Word & The Paper Variety

**I edited this post to add the sketches I used for my layouts. I totally spaced and forgot to give credit to the lovely ladies who inspired my pages!**

Happy Monday! I'm sharing two layouts today that I made for a few challenges. First up is the "REMEMBER" challenge at Bird is the Word. I love these one-word challenges where you can interpret it any way you want! Here is what I made...I love how the colors on this one turned out. I wasn't sure about combining the wood grain paper with the blue, but I actually really like it now that it's finished. I love how Reese looks all girly and frilly, all the while standing on her Daddy's trailer! She is so far from frilly :)

These little pink flowers are from The Dollar Tree! They were white and I spritzed them to match the pink I wanted. You never know what little treasures you may find for just $1.00!

I used this amazing sketch from The Scrappiest...I saw it and wanted to use it immediately!

I created this layout for the fan fold embellishment challenge at The Paper Variety. I love making these cute flowers and they're so easy! These are some of my favorite pictures of Paige in her cute little swim suit. I love her chunky thighs!

This is the sketch I used for this layout. It's an old one from Audrey Yeager that I've had saved on my computer forever. These pictures just seemed to fit it perfectly! Check out Audrey's blog HERE.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful week :)

ScrapFIT Weekend Warm-Up & more

Happy Friday, everyone! I have a couple of layouts to share today. First up is my sample layout for ScrapFIT's Weekend Warm-Up #23. The only rule is to use Kraft cardstock, which I did as my background paper.

I made this layout very girly, since my sweet little angel is napping and off in lala land :)

I also wanted to share the layout I had every intention of posting by this past Wednesday in time for the final sketch challenge at Sketchy Thursdays...however, life got in the way and I just didn't get it completed in time. I wound up wanting to stitch way more than originally planned and it took longer than expected.

I decided to create some more border punch flowers...they are so easy and fun!

That's it for today...hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

ScrapFIT #60 & Paper Thrills #42

It's already time again for another ScrapFIT workout! Seriously, half of January is gone already? It seems like we just revealed the last challenge. This workout was really fun, and it was right up my alley. I love challenges that you can interpret in a million different ways. This one is about focusing on "the simple things" in life...it could be an object that you love that is simple, something your child loves, something you do...anything. I created a layout about my oldest daughter's love for the outdoors.

I used the Bloom Lite cartridge to cut this tree...I have been wanting to do a tree layout for a while now, and these photos were perfect for it! I simply ripped up some paper for my sky and grass, and with some ink & chalk...it was ready to go.

I stuck my alphas to a piece of transparency paper (or whatever it's called...haha) so I could raise it up a little bit.

Our prize sponsor is

There is also a new challenge up at Paper Thrills. This one is about showing how you recover after the holidays. These pictures of my little Paige say it all :) I used papers from a giant stack of Recollections papers from Michael's. There are so many coordinating colors in it...I love how the greens and browns go perfectly with the black and white photos.

Challenge Me Happy #15 Reveal & "Promise"

Hey there, scrappy friends! Today brings a new challenge to Challenge Me Happy! It's #15 and the rules are simple: create a layout using the word NEW in your title! I scrapped these cute pictures of my oldest in one of her new swimsuits. I couldn't wait to create those zig zag lines! As soon as I saw that suit in the store, I immediately thought of how I would scrap it...haha! Does that make me just a wee bit obsessed with scrapping?! (Yes...it sure does!)

Check out our sponsor for January!

Here is what Marie from Little Yellow House Kits says:

I also wanted to share my latest entry for Bird is the Word...this one is for the "Promise" challenge. I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers...and it was pretty challenging for me to mainly use patterned paper as side accents. Thank goodness for paint & mist or I'd be lost :)

Sketchy Thursdays & Bird is the Word

Good Wednesday morning! I have two layouts to share today. I finished the latest Sketchy Thursdays sketch, and I'm actually remembering to post it on time...haha! Talk about a challenge...this was hard for me because I just randomly went through all my loose paper stash and picked out papers that jumped out at me. It was hard to incorporate blue and silver here...but I made it work. I used silver ink for a few stamps, and I used silver trim. I really didn't have this color scheme in mind when I started, but sometimes layouts take on a life of their own and force you to do something you wouldn't normally do. Those wind up being some of my favorite pieces!

Here is the sketch:

I also completed the "WONDER" challenge at Bird is the Word. I know it's a lot of pink, but it just seemed to be the right thing to do here. I love how this turned out!

On another note, I'm being featured on Laurie's blog HERE...check it out! I'm honored to be in the spotlight here...thank you so much, Laurie!

Have a great day, everyone! Thanks for your visit :)

Smile & Just Ducky

Goooood Monday morning! I have two layouts to share today. This first one is one I did just for me. It's not for any challenges or design teams. I used some papers from an old Prima stack. The papers are so pretty that it's hard to cut them up or cover them up.

I loved how my easy punched strip flowers turned out! I also made a few from lace. I was in the mood to experiment, and in this case, I love the results :) I glued some pearls in the centers.

This layout was for last week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch. I had it all finished and then completely forgot to upload it! (Slapping head here...doh!) I still wanted to share it, though, because these photos just make me smile! I used a random selection of papers from my loose leaf stash...no collections or anything. It's harder to scrap like that...having to put it all together yourself...haha.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I love sharing my scrappy "stuff" with you all. I hope you have a great day!

ScrapFIT Design Team & Weekend Warm-Up #21

Hey there, scrappy peeps! I can't believe it has been so long since I've posted...where does the time go? I'm thrilled to say that a new group of FITGirls has been announced at ScrapFIT, and I'm one of them! YIPPEE! I'm staying on board as the Weekend Warm-Up Coach. I love this challenge blog, and I hope you will visit it and be inspired. This will be my third term with Sara and the gang, so I'm really excited. Click HERE to see who else is on the team. {Hint...some extremely talented ladies!!}

I wanted to share the latest Weekend Warm-Up with you tonight. It focuses on using stars on your layout or card. I created this silly layout about my little Paige and her knack for wanting to bite everything! These pictures are from May 2010, and she's almost three now, and she STILL tries to eat everything. I think she's part goat :)

I cut some cute little flags from patterned paper and used toothpicks for the little flag poles!

I added some glossy accents to a few of the stars to give them some shine.

I have a few more layouts to share with you over the next few days. Until then, I hope you find lots of crafty time this weekend! Thanks for stopping by :)

Two Reveals - ScrapFIT & Challenge Me Happy

Happy 2012, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I can't believe another year has vanished. Here's to lots more scrapping in the new year :)

I have to layouts to share on this lovely first day of January. The first one is the latest workout at ScrapFIT. It's Workout #60, and it's an inspiration challenge. I absolutely LOVE the 80's, and this workout is about being inspired by Pat Benatar's song "Love is a Battlefield." I used the line "We are young..." and scraped two photos of my girls. I used Echo Park's Little Girl line. I always love the sticker embellishment sheets in EP's kits...they make it so easy to add details to the page!

The sponsor this month is Boys Rule.

It's also reveal day at Challenge Me Happy! Challenge #14 is a "scraplift." A gorgeous layout by Trina McClune is our inspiration for this one...and it's a beauty! Whatever inspires you from this layout is the focus. I was inspired by the photo placement, the beautiful flowers and the fence!
