Shine Bright / 12 Days of Christmas YouTube Series

Hello, and Happy Friday!  Also, Happy December :)  I'm so excited to be part of the the 12 Days of Christmas YouTube Series this year hosted by TinaGale and Heather's Crafty Life.  They're sharing scrapbooking videos every day for the next 12 days, and each of those days they have a guest scrapper joining them.  Today it's me!

Each day has a different theme, and mine was watercolors and paints.  You know I love me some messy goodness, so I got right to work :)  I started with a Paige Evans cut file called Christmas Icons Heart.  As you can see it has a ton of little holiday shapes that form a big heart.  I pulled out some scrap white cardstock and my watercolors and created some blocks of colors.  I cut little squares out of all the colors and backed each of the open spots with them.  I love using nontraditional colors on Christmas pages, and this cut file allowed me to use a ton of them!  I didn't really start with a collection, so I just made most of it from scratch.

I did use a few patterned papers in a few spots.  I also did some machine stitching through some of the circles and around the inner perimeter of the heart.  I used gold thread because I LOVE GOLD :)  I went with a simple title and mixed and matched some old Thickers from my stash.

These little shapes are so cute!  You also have the positive pieces from the cut, so you can save those and use them on another project if you want.

I had to use glittery gold Thickers on this page.  I'm still on a gold obsession kick, so they were perfect.  I used some solid white ones for the word "SHINE" so I could add some paint and color them up.  I used a little Bella Blvd tree die cut along with some tangled thread to the left of the photo, and I topped it with an old Hip Kit Club flair button.

For my background here, I used more watercolors & some Shimmerz sprays with plastic packaging.  I tried to bring in most of the colors from the big heart.  I added some pink thread here on the right and then decided it needed something more.  I hand drew a star and spritzed it with Gold Color Shine.

I love the dimension here...by adding adhesive foam under the photo it creates instant height.  Everything you tuck under it automatically looks better, I think :)  I also added a lot of splattering with all the watercolors & Shimmerz.

Here's one more shot of the beautiful cut file and watercolor :)

I hope this inspires you in some way!  I want to thank TinaGale and Heather for inviting me to join them.  This was a lot of fun, and make sure you tune in for the next 11 days because they'll both have videos up along with a different guest!  You'll be blown away by what's coming!

Here's my process video:

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a great weekend!
