Merry Joy / Hip Kit Club 12 Days of Giving BLOG HOP

Hello, and welcome to Hip Kit Club's 12 Days of Giving Blog Hop!  You can get tons of inspiration each day and FREE CUT FILES & PRINTABLES until December 12th...woo hoo!  The Design Team is sharing bonus projects featuring all of the free goodies.  I'm up for Day 9 with the awesomely talented Irit Landgraf, and we both have layouts showcasing this beautiful Kaleidoscope cut file designed by Kim Watson.  You can get it for free over at the Hip Kit website under the Cut Files Tab.

Here's what I created.  I cut the design on some white cardstock and made it fit the entire sheet.  I used papers from the 2017 November Hip Kits to back all the open areas.  I used some of the light blue cardstock as my base.  I smudged a bit of white gesso down first and then added some gold, aqua and pink sprays.

This cut file is so pretty and very versatile.  I used lots of Christmas colors and machine stitched through several of the lines using gold metallic thread.  I even smudged a bit of the white gesso on top of it just to soften it up a bit.

I tucked my photo in over on the side here, and I layered one of the gold foiled Pinkfresh Studio chipboard frames under it along with some tissue paper.  I used lots of fun embellishments from the Kits including puffy stickers, die cuts, leatherette stickers, buttons, wood veneer buttons, star buttons and good old fashioned stickers!  Let's not forget the tangled thread :)  I did pop the big circles up with some adhesive foam...the dimension is fantastic.

Above my photo I added in an exclusive wood veneer circle sticker and wood veneer button, some thread, a gold star button and a brand sticker.  I love how all these colors pop against the black & white photo.

I went simple with my title and did a little mixing and matching.  These are the metallic gold Thickers and "joy" is from the exclusive puffy sticker sheet.  I love how the mix of fonts looks!  I also used a few stickers from the American Crafts sticker sheet...this cute bird and house.

Here you can see the dimension from the circles and how I tucked the alphas under the edge.  I really loved the curved title...it's fun to play with the shapes of things like this.

I hope this gives you a fun idea to try with this cut file...so go download it for FREE!  I'd love to see what you create with it ;)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful weekend!
