Happy Thursday! I was up on the My Mind's Eye blog last week with a layout featuring some of the new My Colors Cardstock and the Market Street Ashbury Heights collection. I really love using light kraft cardstock as a background. Sometimes it's nice to change it up from white, and I love how the colors of the MS collection look on the kraft.
I started with a triangle stencil and some Distress Paint dabbers in Abandoned Coral and Cracked Pistachio. I also used a bit of white acrylic paint. I wanted some subtle "messiness" going on in the background. I fussy cut the big flower from one of the MS patterned papers and based the other papers and embellishments around that.
This photo is one of my favorites of my sweet Reese. Sometimes my photo compels me to create a serious layout...a heartfelt layout. This is one of them :)
I created lots of layers under my photo using papers, die cuts and even a fussy cut paint stroke from a 3x4 card. I layered some tangled shiny gold thread under this chipboard button which was perfect for this layout.
Here you can see the background from a different angle. I also added some gold Color Shine (my favorite!) and some tangled thread. I also looped some gold thread through the holes in the heart chipboard button on top of the photo.
I used some small white alphas from my stash and paired it with a die cut word that I cut on my Cameo.
One last close-up of the flower cluster area. I layered in a chipboard ampersand here simply because of the color and the swirl design of it. I liked how it looked peeking from under the flower.
Be sure to check out the MME blog for the brand new collections being revealed soon! They are soooo pretty, and I can't wait to get my hands on them!
Have a GREAT day!
This is a beautiful layout, Missy! Your daughter is precious and your scrapping is awesome but I mostly LOVE your mom heart! One of our three sons has special needs. HOW BLESSED ARE WE!?!?!
