Everyday Magic / Pinkfresh Studio

Happy Thursday!  I wanted to share my newest layout for Pinkfresh Studio today.  I used the beautiful Days of Splendor collection.  I started this page with a cut file.  This is the Greenery Top & Bottom Border cut file.  I duplicated it a few times and created a fun floral frame with it.  It instantly helped me decide where my photo was going to go, so it came together pretty quickly.

I used textured white cardstock for the base, and I used no gesso on it!  I know...who am I?  :D

I didn't use gesso because I decided to only use a small amount of the Liquid Watercolors, and I only used a purple color.  I didn't do any blending or mixing.  I started by mixing some of the Lavendar, Candy Apple and a touch of Espresso.  I used a brush to splatter a lot of the color around the frame area.  I used the brush and same color to lightly paint behind the open leaves of the frame.  I added a little bit of water to help spread the color to the inside edges of the frame.  That's it!  Very easy, and no gesso needed!

I embellished all around the frame.  I used a  mix of flower and leaf die cuts, stickers, enamel dots and even some of the Essential Jewels...I love those!
I love that you can see the texture from the cardstock here through the watercolor.  Now, if I had wanted to blend multiple colors, I probably would've used gesso.
I used a die cut for my title...it was perfect for this photo.  It was the right size and color.  I popped it up with adhesive foam and added some purple thread under it.
I created a few floral clusters on each side as well.  I added adhesive foam here, which creates such wonderful dimension and shadowing.
A few more close-ups!

I hope this inspires you today...it was fun to let this cut file pretty much create this page for me.  Always look at different ways to use the cut files...so many fun possibilities!

Here's my process video:

Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you again tomorrow!

  1. When you talk about Pink Fresh kits is it a monthly subscription?
